SWORD ART ONLINE: FATAL BULLET

We are seeing a sudden blitz of bad reviews for this game. Nearly all of them can be safely ignored, they are due to the newest SAO game Fractured Daydreams drop in review score so they are bombing this one. This is safely the best SAO game ever made, but more importantly it's a competently made game, you don't need to be an SAO fan to enjoy. It won't blow your socks off, but it's a solid experience as long as you don't expect an engrossing story. Played this game for countless hours on PS4 and it's one of only 2 game I've re-bought for Nintendo Switch and Steam (other being NFS Hot Pursuit remake). If you have to choose between the two, pick this one over the newest SAO game, that one will surely drop in price soon with it's trajectory.

Know a bit late to the party but after playing through most of the DLC , Would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to get the game.

As fun as it is to explore SAO world through Kirito's eyes WISH THEY DID MORE GAMES WITH CUSTOM PROTAG in the SAO universe. If they ever did SAO game post Alicization Arc , Would like a game in this format where we can explore the underworld using own char alongside Kirito's party.

Its not exactly a Looter-Shooter like borderlands/any shooter game in Genre but a solid Shooter game with One of the most fun Custom Protag SAO game story that has depth and material.

I wish this was the direction they went for with the other SAO games! It is seriously interesting getting a new story to make our OWN as the player, rather than reliving the anime to a T. The character customization is extremely satisfactory as there's various options for your base look along with costumes and gear to look like existing characters of the franchise! Also, you get to give your robot companion a unique look as well!! I personally enjoy the look of the UI and world design, but the character CG's are the real masterpiece and imitate the SAO style perfectly while offering new content! The only downside I have is that the online/multiplayer portion of the game is almost completely dead, BUT this game is 6 years old and not meant for longevity. ╮(￣▽￣"")╭

Honestly an okay looter shooter. Can't talk for the story as I skipped most of it (80%, most of the time they're just talking so meh) but for the lootin' n shootin' it's a good game for just turning off your brain and going ratatatataatat a lot.

nice concept.
It's an sp game but gameplay is similar to the game the first descendant.
It's clear that the dev didnt have huge funds and it shows but they made the best of it.
I wish they'd make a second game but had bigger funding.

The Good:
-Fun gameplay loop, especially for grinders
-SAO fanservice
-Goes on sale often
-Switch version has all DLC
-Decent gun variety
-auto-aim makes for good monkey brain activation, weak spots for skill expression
-character customization is decent
The Meh:
-DLC is needed to get the full experience
-Not a huge variety in landscapes or dungeons
-Buffs and debuffs become more important at late game
-middling enemy variety
-need to know which chip stats work on which guns to get the most out of them
-minmax requires grinding bounty on multiple saves
The Bad:
-Story is bad without DLC and barely serviceable with DLC
-Grenade launchers are bad
-crashes occasionally
-long loading times if on Switch, PS4, XBOne
-online is dead in 2024 but not surprising, at least possible to coordinate with other players through outside means like Discord
-PvP is 100% dead as it's possible to become immortal with obtainable accessories

I played this game on Xbox through gamepass back in 2020, but when it was leaving gamepass I bought the PS4 version, but never played that, but when I got my PC last year, this was on sale a while back, and im totaly hooked again! :)
