Suspicious Downpour
Suspicious Downpour is a very short single-player comedy horror experience about getting stuck in a storm while out camping.
Welcome to Hanawiti forest, a popular location for adventurous backpackers. Pitch a tent and stay the night in our lush and beautiful backyard. Enjoy the wildlife, enjoy the scenery and have an eye out for Mr. Wilson. Just make sure you don’t get caught in a rainstorm.
Sit in your tent with your trusty flashlight in the calm rain and just relax to the sound of rain hitting your tent. Just be warned you may not be alone in the woods and If you look for trouble you just might find it…
WARNING: Don’t feed the wildlife and don’t pack any meat.A NoteSuspicious Downpour was originally designed and created in the space of a 48 hour game jam. The overall playtime reflects our short development period as the game can be finished in less than 30 minutes. The story isn’t designed for multiple playthroughs however we designed the game with the intention that players can replay the game for the ambience and immersion. The keyboard is used as a puzzle mechanic as it is intentional that you cannot walk aroundAbout the Game JamThis game was created as an entry for the 2021 Aotearoa Game Jam. A very relaxing and atmospheric horror experience, with around 10 minutes of gameplay.

I turned on the game and was ready to be jump-scared and throw my mouse. What I got instead was books that made me chuckle, ominous sets of eyes, and a song when I wondered if my keyboard buttons would do anything and a sandwich as a reward for my tune. Hands down one of the funniest little horror comedies out there. Even though it's only 20 minutes long, it's delightful, go play it!

short and sweet... I have no idea why the keyboard makes music, I love the random books and after nearly dropping my laptop, i found a key combination! A great little game that I'd love to see more of its ilk.
(Playing this on my potato of a laptop, I have had to nerf graphics and play it on postage-stamp quality, but it's still fun.)

* A very short puzzle experience covering the theme Light and Dark very well.
* If you're into collecting achievements, this is super quick to get 100%.
* My 9 year old son loved the ending (it gave me a chuckle too).

Best ending ever.
It was actually a little creepy, very short though, and don't go in TOO seriously lol.

I received this game for free so I might be a little biased, so read this review with that in mind. This game quickly became one of my absolute favorite games as soon as I grabbed my paranoias hand and told it, “we’re going through this together.” And to think that it was made in only 48 hours? I’m truly impressed.
So funny story actually. When I left the tent the first time to find an outhouse or something (the rain water gets to you man), I somehow hit my head on a tree, slipped off a cliff, and fell into the river. That lil goober guy Mr. Wilson, he scooped me up in his big bare(?) (bear?) (maybe both?) arms and swam me to shore. I didn’t know bears could climb vertically, but app(bear)ently they can, though they can climb trees, so I think this is just one of my mental shortcomings. If it weren’t for that kind gentleman, I would have been forced to learn how to swim. Oh the treachery.
Also I don’t know why people were saying this is a short game. It isn’t. My hours don’t reflect it here because I first played the game on my mom’s computer, but I spent just around 27 hours spinning around in circles trying to not have a menty b (the b is for bears btw). I actually only realized I was not, in fact, going to be brutally murdered when I completely gave up and accepted my fate of being futurely brutally murdered. Then I (sorry to spoil) had a party with the bears. A kind few they are, though we already know this from aforementioned Mr. Wilson. What a kind soul.
Anyways, 10/10 game. No notes. Had to get on my own computer to experience this masterpiece again and get the achievements.
