Subdivision Infinity DX
Step into the cockpit of an intergalactic fighter and explore the great expanses of outer space. With more than 30 engaging story missions and sidequests spanning several star systems, Subdivision Infinity is an action-packed journey brimming with dogfights, boss battles, and more set against the stunning wild outer reaches of the cosmos. The story begins when contractor Sgt. Jed Riddle is brought in to investigate a mining facility that has mysteriously gone radio silent. A tense shootout ensues, leading Riddle to take a closer look into what exactly is going on and the dark secrets lurking in the shadows. Beyond the core narrative and exhilarating feeling of piloting a nimble spacecraft on the fringes of the galaxy, Subdivision Infinity DX features an array of optional content to allow players to explore the stars to their hearts content while taking on bounties, mining asteroids for rare minerals, unlocking new ships, and crafting increasingly powerful upgrades along the way.

The first full retail title I bought on PC was Wing Commander, the first one, and I loved it, and I love the genre (arcade space shooters). Games of this genre are few and far between and Subdivision Infinity DX most definitely scratches that itch and gets a thumb up from me, with some caveats.
Firstly, the flight controls, on keyboard and mouse are on point, at least using a mouse with 3200dpi, I've played many games of the genre and felt right at home instantly.
Graphics and sound both get a thumbs up although my 5700x/3070 do get a little strained playing the game, akin to playing a AAA title, I guess due to optimisation, or rather lack there of.
Overall, I'm happy with my purchase and enjoying the game, but... it feels like what it is, in terms of content, a cheap indie game.
The game consists of fixed instanced missions and "free play" areas where you can search out hidden loot boxes with items and cash, farm enemies for XP and items, and also mine asteroids for resources that can be used to build and upgrade ships, and weapons, or sold.
The mission difficulty increases rather quicker than I would like, but you can replay any mission as many times as you want or do free play area runs to your hearts content to grind for XP, money and resources, so in essence you can make the game as easy or hard as you like by grinding, or not.
There are some features missing that I would have liked to see, specifically locking on and range markers on targets. On the HUD, enemies are marked with a red circle when on screen and a red arrow points in their direction if not, and items that can be collected are marked in blue.
Targets are always marked and there is not manual targeting or cycling, and as said earlier, there is no distance info so it can be hard at times to tell what targets are closer than others or which target is the closest.
There are 10 player pilotable ships, all of which I believe can be upgraded (at least once) and there are 8 primary and 2 secondary weapons (which can be upgraded each 5 times), and also 2 tools (mining laser and probe).
Sadly since launch (3 and half years ago) there appears to have been only one small "balancing" patch and so the chances of additional content or DLC is highly unlikely, and as others have said (mostly the negative reviews), that the game does lack content.
Still, I'm enjoying it and have zero regrets.
