Planes:
- World War II-era fighters are here, and you can fly six different types of planes, each with unique features.

Klassischer vertikal-Scroller vor japanischer 2. Weltkriegs-Kulisse
Psikyo stand stets für qualitativ hochwertige Shoot'm Ups, und Strikers 1945 macht da absolut keine Ausnahme, Man ballert sich in bester Vertikal-scrollender Shoot'm Up Manier in einem von 6 Kampfflugzeugen durch eine Japanische Version des Pazifikkriegs. Als Gegner stellen sich einem normale Flugzeuge daher meist nur als Einfaches Kanonenfutter in den Weg, die echt schwer zu knackenden Obermotze stellen dagegen meist riesige Japano-Mechs dar. Und wehe dem, der Vor dem Zusammentreffen mit einem solchen Monstrum seine Waffen nicht ordentlich mit aufsammelbaren Upgrades aufgemotzt hat. Denn wer zu oft ins Gras beisst muss schließlich von Vorne anfangen: Dies ist kein Bullet-Hell Shooter, den man dank unendlich Continues schnell durchgespielt hat, und b ei dem man vor allem auf Punkte spielt. Nein: Hier geht es in erstert Linie um das nackte Überleben unseres kleinen Raumschiffs!
Strikers 1945 erschien erstmals 1995 in den Arcades und wurde dann sowohl für den Sega Saturn als auch für Sonys erste Playstation umgesetzt. Zusammen mit dem Nachfolger erschien das Spiel dann Später noch für Playstation 2. Diese Version basiert wie ich vermute auf der original Arcade-Version, jedenfalls spielt sie sich flüssig und sieht hübscher aus, als ich mir ein 32-bit Konsolen Shmup vorstelle.
