They still can't match the freedom of movement and lightsaber controls that this game perfected 20+ years ago. Newer star wars Jedi games have to be auto lock on dark souls like on rails movement and combat.
Remake this game with the controls in tact pls.

One of my absolute childhood favorites, and one of the gems of 2000s Star Wars games. It's a lot of fun and really achieves the Star Wars feel, sound and mood, with really cool level design ideas. I personally prefer it to Jedi Outcast because it's less sweaty and the lite-RPG flavor really puts you in the shoes of a Jedi learner, but Outcast is really awesome too and many fans understandably prefer it. Either way, I think Jedi Academy is a must-play.

Welcome to the slasher academy, y'all. You will study history and diplomacy, but most importantly you'll slice and dice our enemies.
May the fourth be with you.

Highly recommend the mod "Movie Battle II".. Very fun
Download it at your own risk of addiction, I've tried quitting for years.. when i do hear the in game voice lines in my head at night.. pulling me back, It's an endless cycle you can not escape.

Great gameplay, great story. Even the graphics aren't terrible. Holds up incredibly well 20+ years later.
When you're done with the story, go ahead and download Movie Battles 2 to enjoy multiplayer that's multitudes better than either modern Battlefronts by EA. MB2 is nearly as old as this title and still has a dedicated player base and receives regular updates. If multiplayer isn't your thing and you just wanna slash on your own time, try Movie Duels.
This really is a gem you don't want to skip on, even if you aren't a Star Wars fan.

This game has the best lightsaber combat by a mile and has insanely active modding community.

Movie battles makes an already amazing game into one of the most autisticly fun multiplayer experiences.
As a JarJar enjoyer I might be biased.
