With brand new space combat, playable Jedi characters, and over 16 all new battlefronts, Star Wars Battlefront II gives you more ways than ever before to play the classic Star Wars battles any way you want.
- Enhanced Single-Player Experience – Join the rise of Darth Vader’s elite 501st Legion of Stormtroopers as you fight through an all new story-based saga where every action you take impacts the battlefront and, ultimately, the fate of the Star Wars galaxy.
- All New Classic Trilogy Locations – Fight inside the corridors of the second Death Star, in the marshy swamps of Dagobah, and even aboard the Tantive IV, Princess Leia’s Blockade Runner, as seen at the beginning of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.
- More Classes and Vehicles – Now choose from six distinct soldier classes, plus bonus hero characters for each of the four factions: Rebels, Imperials, CIS and the Republic. Then jump into more than 30 diverse ground and space vehicles, including the clone BARC speeder, AT-RT and new Jedi Starfighter and ARC 170.
- PLUS Improved Online Features – Engage in massive online battles with multiplayer action for up to 64 players. Play five different online game modes including Conquest, Assault, one-and two-flag Capture the Flag, and Hunt.
Now for the first time, Star Wars Battlefront II lets you…
- Fight as a Jedi – Earn the ability to wield a lightsaber and use Force powers like Yoda, Darth Vader and many other heroes and villains.
- Battle in Space – Dogfight in X-wings, TIE fighters, Jedi starfighters and other classic starcraft, or land your ship on a star destroyer and fight it out on foot aboard enemy ships.
- Play 16 New Locations – Battle across Star Wars: Episode III environments such as Utapau, Mustafar and the epic space battle above Coruscant.

Buy this version over the awful "remaster."
Then go download the free remaster mod.
Not only do you save a ton of money by picking up this classic version, but the community-made remaster mod actually looks better than the official re-release flop. Seriously—higher quality, better performance, and way more respect for the original game. And, doing this allows you to play vanilla multiplayer still as its purely a visual upgrade mod.
Thank me later.

This is my comfort game. I can plug into this and not think for HOURS. And it never gets boring, somehow.

The campaign for the 501st Legion is still one of the strongest story arcs in the SW games. You don't just shoot here, you live the journey from clone defenders of the Republic to the ruthless hand of the Empire. With each mission, you feel your personality fade away and all that's left is orders. The music, the voice acting, the atmosphere - everything works for immersion.Multiplayer and Galactic Conquest mode is a separate song. The ability to manually lead an army across the galaxy map, manage resources and then personally participate in battles feels like a strategy, FPS and RPG in one bottle. There's also classes, each with their own role, weapons and tactics. Stormtrooper, rocketman, engineer, scout - you need all of them. And yes, you can play as heroes - and not just for fan service, but to really change the course of combat. And the space battles? It's still the best piloting experience in Star Wars. You can shoot down fighters, infiltrate an enemy flagship, blow up reactors, and fly back out. Sure, it’s not cutting-edge visually. But the art, sound design, map layouts — all crafted with love. The game oozes Star Wars from every pixel. And the modding scene? Still alive and thriving. With mods, you get new maps, new eras, entire campaigns. This isn’t nostalgia talking. This is a game that’s still alive, still rewarding, still great. This is what Star Wars games were meant to be. Legendary. Uncompromising. Timeless.

People actually play it online, it's not 50 gigs, mods work out of the box, it's not 50 gigs, it and Battlefront 1 together are much cheaper than the Classic Collection, and did I mention that it's not 50 gigs?
Since they're actually getting discounts for the first time since the Classic Collection came out (last time was back in February), just grab this and the standalone Battlefront 1 instead of Aspyr's bastardization.

Spent my whole childhood playing this masterpiece, still playing it as a 22 yr, easily a ထ/10 game.

this game may be ancient in gaming years, but guess what? It’s still an absolute blast. Graphics are from a simpler time and the AI sometimes has the tactical genius of a moisture farmer, but none of that matters when you’re blasting droids, and single-handedly winning wars. Space battles? Still epic. Heroes? Still overpowered and I love it. It’s chaotic and ridiculously fun, especially with mods!!!

Really shows you how magical this game is knowing that EA and Dice tried to recreate this game twice and even with all the Season passes, DLC'S and having years of continuous updates they still could never beat or even match this game.
