One day many years ago. Me and my friend decided we were going to boot up Spyro 1 and play through the entire game in a single night. We went to the living room, had a bowl of candy and some pizza, and we started playing. Every time one of us died or finished a level we would switch off, we were laughing and talking about how much fun it was back in the day and how well it held up to that point in time. After several hours it was past the midnight hour. My friend started to get droopy eyes and just wanted to watch me play. I zoomed through some levels and got some secrets. Then I peeked over to where he lay on the couch. There he was, passed out, exhausted from the long night we had spent enjoying each other's company. I found a blanket from his room and laid it over him, before turning the tv and playstation 1 off. Then I quietly without a sound left his house and drove home.
While driving home I sat in silence, grinning at the thought of what he would say the next day. "When did you leave?" "When did I pass out?". But I couldn't help but feel extremely grateful to have been able to spend time with a fantastic friend playing a wonderful game from our childhoods. This is obviously the beautiful remaster of the first 3 Spyro games. But I can't help but love the old time graphics and simple charm of the first original game. And I'm sure that memory plays a big part into why that is.
Please play this game. Make your own memories. Smile just a little more than you normally do. Enjoy your life

This is my favorite game of all time. The game I grew up playing. Before I was even 10 years old, my moms brother gave me a playstation 2. I would play the original spyro, but I had no memory card. I'm autistic so repeating things mindlessly is enjoyable. Every day when I got home I would play this game, and start over from level 1, and I loved it so much, I never once cared that I couldn't "save" the game. I was just too busy having fun. This game is so soothing and nostalgic to play it's like getting a hug in the best possible way. I will never delete this game from my computer. I love spyro so much

Microsoft closed down one of the offices of Toys for Bob, the devs behind this remake, Crash 4 and Skylanders franchise. Buy this game, show your love for Spyro and the devs, we might get a new Spyro game before Microsoft shuts down the studio completely.

The original games are what made me into a gamer as a child. I want a new traditional Spyro game now, also makes me wish Steam had Spyro A Heroes Tale or The Legend of Spyro series. Steam needs more Spyro.

My inner child is appeased.
This is a great remaster of three awesome childhood PS1 games. Every bit is very true to the original, down to the music. My favorite in the OGs and remastered is Spyro 2. It has some great levels and game mechanics, and Colossus is just gorgeous.
PS: The green gems are sneaky and harder to spot in grass but still very pretty.

I played Spyro the Dragon in this trilogy and it was a nostalgic blast in the past ♡
Haven't played any Spyro games in like 15 years and let me tell you, I still love it! The gameplay was fun, the obstacles were challenging, and the art style was super cute. I will say, how in the world did 10 year old me do those flight challenges??? They are low key difficult...
Highly recommend for those who played it in the past and want some nostalgia and also for those who haven't ever played it and just want to play a fun game! Lots of platforming / puzzles, and the controls are a little difficult to get used, but I think the variety and cuteness will be well worth it!

For each game individually, I got all Skill Points to unlock the Art Gallery and played all the bonus levels available.
Spyro the Dragon - 120% in 7 Hours 30 Minutes.
Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage - 100% in 9 Hours 10 Minutes.
Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon - 117% in 10 Hours 40 Minutes.
I vividly remember playing Spyro 1 as a child, and had just as much fun with it as I did back then. The upgraded graphics and engine for the Reignited Trilogy really improved the gameplay IMO.
I don't remember playing Spyro 2 as a kid, but it was just as I expected in a sequel. The addition of the character Moneybags that you would have to pay gems to unlock new abilities was an interesting choice. I could tell they added it just as a way to force the player to backtrack to levels they have already played because certain areas were not available without these abilities. It stretched the gameplay out in a way that it didn't need to be, it added MAYBE an hour of gameplay.
Spyro 3 I have very vague memories of playing, specifically playing as Agent 9, and I want to say that it was from a demo version of the game. But with that, the addition of other playable characters was a big jump for the series. Sheila the Kangaroo, Sgt. Byrd the Penguin, Bentley the Yeti, and Agent 9 the Monkey were very great characters with very cool abilities. Most of the time these characters were locked to their own levels, but the would help during the big boss fights, and I can remember one instance where Sgt. Byrd was able to fly around the main area of the level instead of Spyro. The addition of the two different challenges in the Speedway levels was a lot of fun, and added more depth to each of these levels.
I did have some minor issues with collision detection and floaty controls throughout these games, but I also played on mouse and keyboard, where the game was designed with a controller in mind. Some areas and specific challenges were very frustration, like the Yeti Boxing and Hunter's mission to shoot the Cow UFOs in Country Speedway. These did give me some trouble, but slowing down and taking my time did make these a bit more bearable. All in all, these are great games that still hold up and are still a very good time.
