Really fun game. The movement feels great, the visuals are clean, and it’s just super satisfying to play. It’s quick-paced without being stressful — more of a smooth, zone-out kind of experience than a full-on speedrunner.
The only real issue is the four timed challenge levels in the middle. They’re long, really strict, and demand near-perfect precision for over a minute straight. One small mistake and you’re restarting. It feels out of place compared to the rest of the game’s more relaxed flow and comes off like they just added the strict times to pad out playtime. That said, there’s an easy mode that removes the timers, and honestly, that makes the game much more enjoyable.
Took me just under 3 hours to beat — so maybe better to grab on sale — but if you’re after a more laid-back, fast-paced platformer that still manages to feel satisfying, it’s definitely worth checking out.

I'll get the negatives out of the way first.
There are a few issues with the gameplay that really bring the game down for me. Wall running is incredibly inconsistent, the visual design language is lacking in certain parts (there were a few times I was wall running on glass and didn't know where it ended, as well as a few times where I didn't know where I was going), it's way too easy to lose momentum, and the orbs are have a really inconsistent/low trajectory making chaining them together feel frustrating at times.
The game would be a fun time regardless, but the thing that really brings it down are the time trials. You race against a ghost, no checkpoints, which compounds the above gameplay problems into sections that are extremely frustrating to play. The "easy time trials" is required.
It's really a shame because the game is beautiful, there are cool ideas, the environments have a real sense of place, good music, and there is still a lot good about the gameplay. It has a pretty unique feel among other first person platformers, the vibe honestly reminds me of SUPERHOT.
Why am I recommending this then? Despite this game being heavily flawed, it's still worth playing if you're a fan of the genre. Also it's cool to see a game you beta tested be fully released. :D
To the devs: Thank you so much for making this game. It bleeds of passion, and that's the most beautiful part of it. Please continue making games, I am extremely excited to see what you do next.
I choose to believe the reason it's called Spectrolite isn't because of the mineral but because you are following a spectre of light. No I will not apologise for that joke.
