Space Tail: Every Journey Leads Home
Space Tail is a 2.5D adventure platformer, which immerses the player in a deep, emotional plot, and lets him explore new planets and interact with alien civilizations.
Every journey changes the point of view – it grows with the traveller. Our game tells a story about self-exploration, transformation and understanding the world around us.
The plot of the game is inspired by real events, when people began their conquest of space by sending animals to the stars. We intended it to be a kind of a tribute to all the animals that paved the way for humans to go into space. Most of these animals – the first astronauts, did not survive the journey. Our story tells of the adventures of a dog named Bea, who… managed to beat the odds.
Bea is a cheerful and courageous character, but the player must remember that she is just a… dog. She has all the characteristics of a mongrel – she barks, likes to chase her own tail, and learns about the world through her senses. Bea can sniff, listen and observe. These are the main mechanics of detective mode which will help her in exploring and understanding her environment.
Bea travels through space discovering more planets. Each planet is different and has its specific inhabitants, who can either become friends of the main character or be very unfriendly towards her. We are convinced that exploring this amazing world together with Bea will give the player a lot of satisfaction and pleasure.

Ah yes, Laika Come Home! Leika Lives!!!
The fact that such an amazing looking game is made by someone from Poland makes me proud of my wife’s boyfriend’s country!
Space Tail is a platformer with arcade-logic puzzles, inspired by historical events that were only possible thanks to our often forgotten heroes: dogs.
It’s tells the story of Bea, a dog that received her owner’s love and warmth but eventually had to train her senses to leave her on a special mission. Taking inspiration from actual events, Bea becomes a survivor of the trip and lands on an unknown planet. Throughout her journey, she depends on her senses to sniff familiar scents, hear threats from afar, or use her canine eyesight to solve obstructing puzzles. There she begins an adventure of self-exploration on unknown planets and space stations. She needs to use her senses to find her way back to her companions and eventually “home.”
The way the game reflects such an inspiring concept that gives homage to such deserving animals is excellent and worthy of applause. It comes from a sad reality that most animals did not make it back when sent to these missions. Yet, Space Tail paints a fantasy of bravery, courage, and a deeper understanding of self-exploration, be that in outer space or within yourself. It may not have the most complex plot in the world, but it has plenty of emotional strength behind it. Bea's journey and goal to reunite with her human companion is very touching, even if it lacks the nuance of other animal based games.
It’s quite an amazing game to look at, with its choice in art direction being very similar to Ori, which really makes the entire world stand out. This goes for characters, aliens, and the environments you will find throughout the game. Each environment has its vibe and originality, having puzzles that match its surroundings.
If you’re a fan of good bois and platformers, this game will not disappoint, as it is pretty challenging with its puzzles and exploration features. If you enjoyed games like Ori, Limbo or similar series, this might be the game for you. I mean, it’s got freaking DOGS IN SPACE! What the hell are you waiting for?
