Made by a solo developer, Space Cats Tactics brings together the nerve-wracking battles of turn-based strategy games and the powerful epic stories of space opera.
Combining grid- and turn-based tactical combat (as seen in games like XCOM and Divinity: Original Sin) and inside-ship crew management (like in games such as FTL and Star Command Galaxies), in Space Cats Tactics you will have to be on your toes and think every step very carefully!

Plot:A long time ago, humans created your race, a hybrid of cat and man. to be their slave warriors and fight their wars for them.
But after long years of servitude, these space cats turned against their creators and fought for their freedom.
Eventually, they forced humans to sign a treaty liberating the whole Catkind… but your kind is still despised and feared, even though they are fierce warriors and skilled pilots.
You are Captain Mitzi, a mercenary hired to smuggle the ship Curiosity to a remote corner of the galaxy. Turns out the job had more to it than you thought: now you’re running for your lives with the government’s ships hot on your heels! Every encounter has different outcomes and every decision will impact your destiny, so choose wisely: you can be a righteous hero or a vengeful pirate, talk your way out of things like a charming rogue or escape gun blazing.

hmm.... also erst mal das positive: game macht spaß und sieht recht gut aus. stresst auch nicht den man kann seine züge in ruhe planen (klassische hex taktik) und sobald mann die waffendynamik durchschaut hat ist es recht easy.
und jetzt der grund warum ich es nur bedingt empfehlen kann. nach 5h war es vorbei und nach 9h hatte ich alle errungenschaften. und das für 15€ ist ein no go für micht. muss aber jeder für sich entscheiden wieviel er breiet ist für einen abend spielspaß auszugeben. wären es mehr missionen würd ich sagen es ist jeden cent wert aber so höstens im sale kaufen
aber großes lob an den entwickler solo so ein spiel zu machen da können sich die großen studios noch paar scheiben abschneiden. keine störenden bugs nur paar fps einbrüche (ab 2h spielzeit) die verkraftbar waren und nach nem neustart des games für die nächsten stunden weg waren da bin ich von EA & co schlimmeres gewohnt :) kleiner tipp wenn ihr abspeichern wollt erst in den nächsten sektor springen sonst müsst ihr die letzte mission nochmal machen

At the beginning I was very sceptical, if only because of the description and the many interesting games that were mentioned as references. However, I was most put off by the title, I mean, what are cats doing in outer space?
As an RTS and SciFi fan, I gave the game a chance ... AND ... I am absolutely positively surprised!
I love games like XCOM where RPG and Turn based battles elements merge, add a space setting and I'm happy (usually). But this time it's different because I'm not really happy but excited.
Also I had a question for which I went to the game discord and I am positively surprised about the community as well as that the developer himself is the first to answer questions before anyone else even has the time. BIG PRAISE !
Now what can I say about the game?
It has a research tree that is unfortunately a bit short but I think there will be something more (unfortunately the game itself also has an end so you can't fly around endlessly so unfortunately such options have to find an end), furthermore there are interesting characters (damn the story is partly just too funny) although I would like to see a character editor for the main character.
Also the idea of being able to launch drones and set the spaces differently (e.g. fire a heavy missile or a missile swarm) is already a helpful option in the course of the game and allows a lot of tactical depth.
I would also have an idea here, perhaps "combat drones" that board other ships so that there are battles on them, just like on our ship when an enemy shoots at us with a boarding capsule.
In addition, such "droids" could also occupy and defend the unoccupied spaces when there is an Intruder Alert or simply to get more power out of the ship.
What should be emphasised is that all battles in the game take place not only in space but also on the ship itself, you can reoccupy the rooms in battle (even several times) and then use various possibilities such as an EMP or a missile attack.
You also have to take care of fires that break out when you are hit or attackers on board when you are boarded.
It's great fun to play.
Together with the graphics, it's a really successful work.
I'm already looking forward to the first addon.
If it's only half as good as the basic game, it's officially pre-ordered with this review :P
