Souls Axiom – Düster, atmosphärisch und angenehm rätselhaft
Ich habe mir Souls Axiom spontan im Sale für ein paar Euro gegönnt – und bereits nach den ersten vier Räumen/Rätseln kann ich sagen: Das hat sich gelohnt.
Die Rätsel sind bisher zwar nicht übermäßig schwer, aber genau das macht sie für mich so angenehm. Man bleibt nicht ewig hängen, sondern kommt stetig voran und hat dabei dieses kleine Erfolgserlebnis, wenn sich ein neues Areal öffnet. Das sorgt für einen durchgehenden Spielfluss – perfekt, wenn man einfach mal entspannen und in eine andere Welt abtauchen will.
Apropos Welt: Die Atmosphäre ist für mich das absolute Highlight. Souls Axiom entfaltet eine eigenartig düstere, fast schon melancholische Stimmung, die man so selten in Spielen findet. Die Umgebungen sind stilistisch außergewöhnlich, manchmal surreal – und genau das bleibt hängen.
Auch wenn ich noch am Anfang stehe, habe ich schon jetzt meinen Spaß mit dem Spiel gehabt. Wer auf narrative Sci-Fi-Rätselspiele mit eigenwilligem Stil und einer Prise Mystery steht, macht hier definitiv nichts falsch – vor allem zum reduzierten Preis.
