The beautiful blue sky is getting painted darker with each passing moment.
War.
People killing each other.
No one knows who started it anymore.
No one even knows how long they have been fighting, forgetting what they are fighting for.
During this war, a girl was born.
Her name was Sora.
She was born with a power for fighting.
She was not happy about it, but the people around her were.
They sent her to the battlefield with no regard for her feelings at all.
The last war on the worn-out planet.
Whether it is won or lost, there will be nothing left.
Sora does not know the meaning of her fight.

This is an amazing follow-up to Suguri! (the first game)
Everything is much more optimized, and the OST is even better than before!
I will say that just like with Suguri's game, I believe most people would get confused over the blue projectiles from Hime, just as I did not expect Suguri to possess similar projectiles.
But off to state the good!
1. The bossfights. I would argue that this is the best part of the game, even including the EX stage, I personally despaired when I saw the second half of the fight, but I persevered for 5h and eventually won, never have I enjoyed repeating a fight this much, because each time I was getting better and seeing through their seemingly unavoidable attacks.
I would say that if you're at best fine with the dark souls type of repetition, this may not be your game. It can get frustrating and far more hopeless than my personal experience of dark souls, but when you finally win, it feels amazing.
Certain bosses have really good design IMO from a difficulty standpoint, Suguri and Sham being the most relevant, with Hime if you've played Suguri. Mira was also pretty enjoyable.
The voice-acting is alright, it is what you SHOULD expect from a game of this time, and it only ever appears in the final parts of the game.
Unlike Suguri, I found myself less incentivized to "blitz" my enemies. Well, you kind of get used to blitzing through them once you master the Bazooka and Sword.
2. Bonus Weapon, increase in difficulty. The 3rd weapon slot really makes the difference in the world, I would not have ever beaten Sora if I didn't have any of my 3 slots, making it feel like each weapon served purpose when the enemies became much more concerningly difficult.
3. Story. I will admit, this is probably only gonna be for SOME people, but I personally found the story much more clear than with Suguri, and the way it connects to the story from Suguri's perspective, was also very interesting. I do wish that there was a unique cutscene for the EX Stage whenever you lose, due to the purpose of that fight, but the other part of me would not be sane if I had to go through a cutscene dozens of times. I guess skip would just fix that though.
4. Base mechanics. Coming from Suguri, I personally LOVED the partial repair mechanic, it made me feel less afraid of being on high heat during most of my fights. I also found myself having less issues with finding out where the hell I was when on a high speed situation, too!
The Heat mechanic also felt more grounded, and hyper bars felt much more impactful, with little room for "just spamming it".
Overall, GREAT game, may not be everyone's cup of tea, and I would recommend to wait for a sale if you are unsure, but the game was difficult enough to make me feel like I too, was getting exhausted from the fights.
One could say... I hit 300% Heat in my fights. Maybe.
I 100% recommend the game. Just get some Orange Juice and enjoy.

This is a good game. Dash mechanic and lengthy hp bar on easy is a good introduction to shoot em up games. Came from 100% orange juice; it is nice seeing the story. Music is also dope.

Now that I've somewhat calmed down after FINALLY getting through the last stage, I can say I would eagerly recommend this game to folks. (especially if theyre better at bullet hells than I am)
Controls are really smooth, it sorta allows for you to come up with your own preferred setups for each stage, and, while frustrating, it makes the clearing of each stage WAY more satisfying.
Also, I LOVE the music in this game!! It's darker than some other entries, but that's what I like about it, pure bangers all around.
And, again just like with my Suguri review, it's nice to finally go through the Orange Juice series and learn a bit more about each of the games which all the characters came from. Great time!

This is the second game in the Suguri series developed by Orange_Juice, and I honestly think this is one of their best games period. The main gameplay loop focuses on the dash mechanic - instead of avoiding bullets, you're encourages to in fact dash into them to build up your meter.
While dashing grants you i-frames from bullets, more solid projectiles like missiles, and laser beams cannot be dashed through, and overuse of this mechanic builds up a heat gauge from 0%-300%, the higher that percentage, the more damage you take, thus taking on this risk reward approach.
Bullet patterns and particle effects are gorgeous, DEKU's music is atmospheric and almost thought-provoking at times, I can only hope we'll see more from Orange_Juice in the bullet hell genre one day other than their 100% Orange Juice party game, but this is an impeccable localisation still updated to this year and I highly recommend and hope more people will give a shot.
