SOMA is a sci-fi horror game from Frictional Games, the creators of Amnesia: The Dark Descent. It is an unsettling story about identity, consciousness, and what it means to be human.
The radio is dead, food is running out, and the machines have started to think they are people. Underwater facility PATHOS-II has suffered an intolerable isolation and we’re going to have to make some tough decisions. What can be done? What makes sense? What is left to fight for?
Enter the world of SOMA and face horrors buried deep beneath the ocean waves. Delve through locked terminals and secret documents to uncover the truth behind the chaos. Seek out the last remaining inhabitants and take part in the events that will ultimately shape the fate of the station. But be careful, danger lurks in every corner: corrupted humans, twisted creatures, insane robots, and even an inscrutable omnipresent A.I.

I recently embarked on an unforgettable journey into the depths of existential horror and profound storytelling with Frictional Games' masterpiece, SOMA. As both a keen observer of playthroughs and an active participant in the game, I can confidently say that SOMA delivers an unparalleled gaming experience that transcends the boundaries of conventional horror and challenges the very fabric of our understanding of consciousness.
From the moment the player is plunged into the eerie depths of PATHOS-II, a dilapidated underwater research facility, SOMA captivates with its atmospheric tension and a narrative that burrows deep into the recesses of your mind. Having initially followed the game through playthroughs, I was already acquainted with its hauntingly beautiful environments and existential quandaries. However, immersing myself in the gameplay added a layer of personal connection that no amount of passive viewing could achieve.
The game's strength lies not only in its spine-tingling atmosphere but also in its ability to weave an intricate narrative that probes the very essence of human identity. As Simon Jarrett, the protagonist, I found myself questioning the nature of self, consciousness, and the ethical implications of technological advancements. SOMA doesn't just frighten with jump scares; it instills a deep sense of existential dread that lingers long after the credits roll.
The attention to detail in the game world is nothing short of remarkable. The decaying corridors of PATHOS-II, the flickering lights, and the haunting soundscape create an immersive experience that is both visually stunning and psychologically unnerving. The puzzles, though challenging, seamlessly integrate with the narrative, adding an extra layer of engagement and intellectual stimulation.
The voice acting and dialogue are superb, drawing players into the emotional struggles of the characters and adding a human touch to the cold, metallic environment. The encounters with various entities within PATHOS-II are pulse-pounding, and the moral choices presented are genuinely thought-provoking, forcing players to confront the consequences of their actions.
SOMA is not just a game; it's a thought-provoking, emotionally charged odyssey that leaves a lasting impression on players. Whether you've witnessed the journey through the eyes of others or dared to step into the dark waters yourself, SOMA stands as a testament to the power of interactive storytelling in the realm of gaming. Frictional Games has crafted a masterpiece that challenges, terrifies, and ultimately leaves you pondering the very nature of what it means to be alive. An absolute must-play for any aficionado of psychological horror and narrative-driven games.

P.S. Ja grałam po polsku:
Install/wrzuć w folder z grą. Odpal :)

ON zniknie... To takie proste.
JEDNAK!
Mogłam ją zabić, no ale to ostatni człowiek....
