Sniper Elite V2 Remastered - A Masterful Sniper Experience
Graphics and Visuals: The remastered version of Sniper Elite V2 truly shines with its enhanced graphics and improved visuals. The environments are beautifully rendered, and the attention to detail is commendable. The improved lighting effects and added visual enhancements bring the game to life, making the sniping experience highly immersive. However, occasional texture pop-ins and minor glitches hinder the overall visual experience.
★★★☆☆
Gameplay and Mechanics: Sniper Elite V2 Remastered retains the fantastic gameplay mechanics of the original game, providing an exhilarating sniping experience. The satisfying bullet time mechanics and realistic ballistics add an extra layer of excitement to each shot. The game offers a solid level design with a good mix of open-world exploration and intense sniper battles. However, some players might find the controls a bit clunky and the AI behavior inconsistent, occasionally breaking immersion.
★★★☆☆
Multiplayer and Cooperative Features: Sniper Elite V2 Remastered includes an expanded multiplayer mode, allowing players to engage in intense sniper battles with friends and strangers alike. The cooperative mode provides an enjoyable experience for players who prefer working together to complete missions. However, the matchmaking system can be hit or miss, with occasional connection issues and limited player base, leading to longer waiting times.
★★★★☆
Story and Character Development: While Sniper Elite V2 Remastered is primarily focused on the exhilarating sniper gameplay, the underlying story provides a sufficient backdrop for the missions. The narrative follows an intriguing World War II plot filled with espionage and betrayal, providing enough motivation to progress through the game. However, the character development remains somewhat shallow, with limited interactions and minimal depth to the protagonists.
★★★☆☆
Audio and Sound Design: Sniper Elite V2 Remastered offers satisfactory audio design, with realistic weapon sounds and explosions that enhance the gameplay experience. The immersive sound effects contribute to the overall tension and atmosphere of each mission. However, the voice acting can be hit or miss, with some characters sounding uninspired. The lack of variety in the soundtrack also becomes noticeable after extended gameplay sessions.
Overall, Sniper Elite V2 Remastered delivers an enjoyable sniping experience with enhanced graphics and improved visuals. The gameplay and mechanics remain solid, providing thrilling moments of strategic sniping. While the multiplayer and cooperative features are a welcome addition, occasional technical issues may hinder the experience. Despite minor flaws, the game successfully maintains the exciting atmosphere of the original Sniper Elite V2, making it a worthwhile choice for fans of the genre.

Sniper Elite V2 Remastered is essentially the same game as the original, with slight visual improvements that bring it a little more in line with modern expectations. The core gameplay remains intact, and fans of the original will find the same stealth mechanics that made the game engaging. However, not all missions allow for a 100% stealth approach, which can be a bit disappointing for those looking to ghost through the entire campaign.
The sniping mechanics are still fun, offering satisfying long-range kills, though it's worth noting that the experience isn't particularly realistic, especially on lower difficulty settings where the challenge is reduced. On the plus side, the remastered edition includes all the DLCs, adding extra content and missions that enhance the overall package.
In summary, Sniper Elite V2 Remastered is a solid choice if you're looking to revisit the classic game with some extra content and improved visuals. Just don't expect a completely overhauled experience.

One of my fondest memories of playing this series is from the original version back in 2013.
Loved the stealth game play & bullet mechanics - with varying options from arcade style to real simulations (bullet drop physics) - so much that it got me hooked on the series over the past decade.
So going back to the updated version (remake) of V2 on the Steam Deck has been a lot of fun.
The game is fairly linear compared to the open world style of the later games in the series, so it's bit shorter in overall duration.
Besides a slight tweaking of the controller settings (default doesn't work with SD controller, so you'll need to change that), the game runs perfectly on native configuration on the Steam Deck.
Battery life will be roughly 2 hrs on this setting.
Highly recommended.

Very good game. There were a lot of butt-clenching moments - how a sniper game is supposed to be.
There is one rule to objectively make this game much better - during the custom difficulty selection, just turn off the setting which enables wind-related bullet assistance. Enabling this removes the core fun element of the game - sniping enemies in relation to wind and distance - it shows exactly where to aim your cursor otherwise, and the wind and distance calculation that you manually have to do is completely out the window. I don't know why the developers would have this enabled by default. Enabling that makes sniping so easy it's one point and click, it becomes your generic shooter game, only the other aspects of the game aren't as strong as something like say Call of Duty.
Also, this series has one of the sexiest mechanics in gaming - shooting a sniper shot when you hear a thunder (or any loud noise) - making your shots silent. When you successfully eliminate all enemies without being heard, you feel like such a badass!
Strongly recommend the game, and the series as a whole!
Added suggestion: If you own a Playstation controller, use Gyro. For a game like this, it's perfect.

Great game!
Played the campaign through with my friend and we had a blast.
This game along with Ghost Warrior franchise is what made the 'bullet cam' famous, and it's so fun to see.
Each mission of the campaign is well made and the 4 DLC missions that come with this edition are great experimental missions that toy more with stealth and player choice of vantage points.
First timers to Sniper Elite difficulty may have trouble determining distance but after a while played on the lower difficulties the player will naturally get the feel for it.
Aside from the campaign there are additional modes for Co-Op play including Overwatch which is a favourite of my friend and I. One is the sniper who must guide the other player who is unequipped with a rifle to their objective.
Multiplayer is unfortunately dead however at least 2 players can have fun with a PvP session.
