Rise from the depths a crumbling kingdom and to the challenge of defeating increasingly difficult demonic bosses. Choose aspects of yourself to weaken before defeating the avatars of Sin in the boss battler Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption. Inspired by classic boss-battlers and modern skill-based action RPGs, with a dash of gothic anime styling and horror storytelling, Sinner promises a thrilling and bone-chilling experience. A lone warrior stands on a strange shore, his mind clouded and his past forgotten, but an unstoppable force drives him on. He is Adam, guilty of a great sin and drawn to this place by powers as secret as they are terrifying. As his home, the Kingdom of Cavanis, languishes in blasphemy, Adam must face a series of trials in a desperate quest for redemption.

I would genuinely give this game a 10/10. I love souls-likes and I have been loving this game. It broke my heart to see mixed reviews and a lot of negative comments. This is the devs first game, at least on steam. And it is an incredibly interesting and cool premise. The game play is very fun and intricate with a fair amount of replay ability. A lot of the fights are difficult so if you like souls-likes you will probably love this game. The art is also incredible, cut scenes at the start of fights are awesome. The lore for the game is also very interesting.
I saw comments on the combat and movements saying it feels clunky or slow. The only thing I will say is no it does not play like elden ring or a fromsoft game. But it plays fantastic for what it is, feels really good and has the indie game charm. Genuinely a fantastic game and while I got it in a bundle of games for cheap, I would happily have paid full price for this game. Additionally, I saw comments about the game being difficult. Do not buy if you don't like difficult souls type games. It is hard, but not too hard like some people say. Some people are just whiny and do not like a challenge.
If you have played dark souls one remastered on steam, this game feels less clunky than that. Less gameplays time of course but this is an indie game being sold for under $20.
TL:DR
The game is fantastic. Movement feels like an indie game and is not crisp like massive souls-like titles. But is still incredibly fun and very fun challenging premise. A long with interesting lore and great art.

Great game, I loved the boss designs. Good graphics and smooth game play. I really appreciated the unique "sacrifice" system, it created an intriguing puzzle of deciding what order to fight the bosses in and it increased the tension up until the end.
It is short though, so wait for a bundle / sale, but be sure to grab if you like souls games!

This game is a fun, semi short boss rush meant for people who like games such as dark souls. It includes 8 bosses overall with some post game content if you're up for it. Its main drawbacks are some rare but not rare enough to be noticed glitches and slight balance issues. Personally I liked this game a lot but I also got it for around 4 bucks. Overall it's a 7/10 for me.

I wasn't expecting much from this game so I went in with low expectations. But I have to say the beautiful visuals are what drew me in first. The controls were smooth and game play was good for fighting. During the fights the unique designs and boss music really drew me in. For a boss rush this was really thought out. I love love LOVE the fact the game gives you less to work with as you go on instead of giving you bigger health more stamina like most games in leveling up after defeating a boss. Also when loosing to said boss' which you may, it is so quick to get right back in there and fight them again. I can say if you like Souls like games and want a game with a drizzle of lore, cool boss looks and nice music, this game is worth it. There is replay value so the time spent and could be spent I feel like justifies the price.

I decided to write a review because "Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption" has unfair reviews.
Firstly, the game is not simple but hard either.
Now, let's dive into the details:
Genre It's a boss-fight game which the main purpose is challenge the player.
Story It's not linear, sometimes confusionary but, as I said, is not the core of the game. Even if there's a lack of animated cutscenes, the pictures are really good
Bosses Here we go, this is one of the best part of the game. They are designed meticulously, each one is different with their own mechanics and they totally represent the sin they are linked to. Also, the ambientance and the music is totally part of each boss giving you a perfect atmosphere("Slothful Yordo" is the one I liked the most)
Mechanics It's a basic souls-like style where you start to the max lvl. I do not like how they chose to setup the configuration of the controller(I do not understand why they changed it instead of using the configuration of every souls-like game). A particular mechanic is the "sacrifice". Each time you have to challenge a boss you gain a debuff such as losing part of your gear or stats. The fun fact? You won't get it back when you defeat a boss, that's why people find the game hard imho
Weapons There are different set of weapons that you can unlock, but you start with 2 of them: a shield + sword and a two-hander
Modes After the main game you unlock a new game mode called "challenge" divided into "illusion"(you challenge the boss you want and set your record time) and "nightmare"(you fight all the bosses in a royal rumble style)
Price I wouldn't buy it on his normal price, but it's a good deal if discounted
In conclusion, "Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption" is not a must have, but it's a fun game if you want to challenge your skill against bosses in a souls-like style.
Vote: 7/10

The game has some negative jank: hitboxes are bad and awkward; bosses can use moves that can lead to death without reaction, pairs nasty with bad hitboxes; and the visual clarity is pretty bad too.
That said, I recommend this game despite these issues. I disliked the downgrade system, and it isn't my sort of style of games, but I can admit it's pretty neat. The bosses were pretty cool, and I had fun with 2 of them even if I got my body pummeled or double-teamed.
I give it a thumbs up overall.
