Silica

So I'll be completely honest. I've been searching for a damn good strategy game for a long time. C&C has always been an inspiration, and Renegade was one of the coolest and most influential games in the 90s. Silica gave me the feeling of doing both at the same time, something I've always wished for. The implementation is damn well done, despite which I returned it after almost 3 hours and now bought it again.
Why?
Quite simply, the setting itself is damn cool. And since it's in Early Access at this point, there are damn many things that are surely planned, and I'm looking forward to it positively.
Good:
The gameplay is damn ingenious and well executed.
Multiplayer capability is also damn well implemented. I love it and can't wait to experience large battles.
The various modes are a brilliant move, offering something for every player.
The units look very good and are fun to play.
The effects are also very well implemented.
Switching between units is a lot of fun, and you can actively participate in the fights, which is really cool.
You can even control air units!
You can also play as the aliens, which is super cool!
Areas for improvement:
The maps are still far too small for me. I wish for more variety, although I'm sure the developers have it on their radar.
There are still too few buildings for me.
There is too little research, and it sometimes progresses too quickly.
Especially the aliens should build up more and become a bit more dangerous.
I would appreciate more counter units or equipping the other human faction with different units and weapons.
The first-person camera is unfortunately somewhat blurry, as if looking through a helmet camera with very poor reception. I would prefer a better camera optics here.
In the Arena game mode, enemies sometimes spawn at the same spawn point, leading to direct kills or deaths.
There are more points, but these are the ones that personally stood out to me the most.

Ist echt ein cooles game und auch gut das die Entwickler weiter daran Arbeiten fehlt noch mehr Maps und vielleicht noch mehr Units auf beiden seiten so ein gigajet lacreatura wäre schon witzig

I really want to see that this game gets more content, there is no Workshop unfortunately… but i hope the devs give us more content and units
Overall this game gave me fun and a bit of dune vibes so it’s ah recommendation for me

Amazing. Its not finished cause early access, but there is soooo much potential. Really great right now. Feels like Dune should be, like a massiv war. I love playing as commander, preparing a massiv attack and as soon as the army is moving to the enemy to join as normal soldier. Its so amazing to see the fight from the view of a soldier. Can't wait to fight shoulder on shoulder with my friends. Keep work on Silica devs - its great !
Hopefully the devs will add formations for groups (like tanks in a line-formation side by side), also patrol commands (so units can patrol in areas) and the function of the radar (to see the circle for example of the scan area). - Thanks devs !

I definitely recommend this game. Highly talented and reasonable developer, very cool game idea (RTS/FPS hybrids have been published before but I think this has quite some uniqueness), very cool setting and background story. Grafics look awesome, I especially like unit design (aliens are extremely cool!) and the beautifully crafted desert maps with stunning day and night cycles.
It has to be pointed out that this is early access at the moment which is mostly noticeable in unit ballance, some pathfinding issues and incomplete game features. I have the impression that all issues are being adressed already and the developer really cares about feedback. It will take some time, allegedly until release in the fourth quarter of 2024, until everything is polished but I am definitely optimistic about the outcome. This has the chance to be one of the best games I ever played. At the moment it offers some frustration because of the beta status but it already offers so much fun. I love standing somewhere in the desert, somewhere on my own, just watching the beautiful sunset and the night sky coming in. Of course the frantic action of FPS battle as either human forces or the aliens of Baltarus means loads of fun and offers such a cool addition to the very cool RTS part of the game. There is even a third faction under development. So this has a lot to offer already but will do so even more when it is finnished. Considering the few bucks you have to pay for the game during early access it really is a no brainer if you think about buying it right now. You buy an incomplete game along with some frustration due to it's development status but you also buy a lot of fun and support the developer along the way. This is a real good deal with chances being high this is becoming a real gem. Just don't start by playing the aliens. They offer loads of fun being able to scale every wall, cliff or ceyling but due to the current ballancing reasons are really hard to play.

I love the idea of this game as well as the graphics. I also like the little beta community, which is most of the time quiet respectful at each other and sharing its passion about the game. However, the game is far from ready. A lot of things need to be implemented (e.g. quality of life, better ai, balancing, start spots, bugs). The performance improved a bit in the recent time and I hope it will be improved further, so 60-100 fps with high unit cap is possible. I am really eager to know how the game dynamics will be once it is finished. Please note that you play a beta version and this game is developed by a small team. I wouldnt recommend this game, if I wouldnt know that the developer of this game is very dedicated to make it good as well as tries to implement a lot of feedback of the community. If you bought this game and you are not satisified yet, give it some time for development and improvement and play it again after a few month again.
