Play as Yuma Ilvern and stop the Empire from exploiting the power of the ancient dragons, including the soul of the Shining Dragon within you. With the help of your friends, realize your destiny, save Astoria, and unleash the strength you’ve always had locked away. In the original game, previously released only in Japan, Imperial Princess Excella was an unplayable character, but in the new “Refrain Mode” in Shining Resonance Refrain, both she and Dragonslayer Jinas can be added as party members for a new experience – just be sure to save this for your second playthrough to avoid any spoilers! As an added bonus, all of the extra cosmetic items and side quests are included in this remaster.

I have a good 60+hours in game from console and bought again for pc. 10/10 JRPG
If you are a fan of the 'Tales of' series, you'll love it. This has some TOP tier English voice actors-I mean literally some of the BEST in the business, it's insane; phenomenal music and gameplay. A charming romance/bromance system and story.
Hard to believe it's made by sega tbh but they pulled this off- this is an absolute GEM of a game more people should know about.
Even with the different endings, I suppose in some ways the story can be a bit 'anime' and cliche, but for ME personally I like that anyway; so take it with a grain of salt and enjoy the ride for what it is.
Small tip- START on "refrain mode"
It's advertised as a 'new game+' but it's NOT.;
Literally zero difference in difficulty or story etc- it just lets you use 2 characters that were not normally available in the original base game. So no sense in going through 50% of the game to then turn around and want them.
I'd recommend either just not using them until you know who they are, or filter it in your mind when you see duplicates on screen.

As a PC version of a 2014 ps3 game + DLC, at half the price of a big title, this game delivers.As an action jrpg, it did not age well;The combat does not flow very well until you get use to it and even then it gets pretty repetitive. Not to mention having to go to the menus to change the lead character!Story-wise. it"s fairly generic, with a few sprinkles of originality. but it also does not overstays its welcome.The protagonist is a whinny little b... , while the side Characters are upbeat and i didnt hate any of them.A princess- knight, an elf priestess and an elf sorceress, with every other npc dropping "ara ara"s? in a non-H game? At least it scores highly in culture.

I don't know if I liked this game because it's good or because it held me hostage for so long, but for something I got for nearly free from Humble Bundle it's great, I really liked the combat even if things did get grindy as hell towards the end of chapter 3.
The girls are cute, +1 point.

um... i don't enjoy the way the story is delivered and the gameplay is on the basic side but... its not bad. look up the game before purchasing to see if it is to your tastes.

Wonderful game. Reminiscent of a Tales game in combat. Very deep, involved story, Lots of romance/friendship building, and it is done quite well. Side quests are plentiful and worthwhile. Characters are top notch and their interactions with each other are very organic and heartfelt. The musical aspect is an especially intriguing note. And the graphics are charming and still hold up today IMHO. Highly recommended!
