Amazing combat physics, and cool magical rune spells! Super gory and fun! I want more! This game has a lot of potential to be one of the best VR combat games, yet! ...although, Gorn is pretty awesome..but this game feels like a realistic Gorn! My kids loved it, too..lol
Love the Viking lore! It would be awesome to have some ancient alchemy crafting..or maybe witchcraft!
Looking forward to the other features and RPG stuff the devs mentioned, too! ..especially VR weapon forging!
Pros:
-Combat physics is awesome, and makes you feel powerful
-Graphics are amazing for VR
-Cool spell FX
-Cool voice acting
Cons:
-Only a single level ATM (Although the devs are promising more environments)
-Captured gameplay came out too dark (Until I realized you can make it brighter, and turn on a spectator camera)
-Enemy AI is good, but the bosses could be better. (I basically knock them down, and hack them to death)
-Might be better if the enemies blocked your strikes, and if the bosses do special AI attacks.
-I want to use these combat mechanics on a quest, or a dungeon crawl or something!

Shadow of Valhalla is a fun physics based wave fighter for VR, players'll fight AI to unlock magic spells which they can use to attack the AI. The game also offers many nice meelee weapons and good visuals.

As others have pointed out, this is, right now, an “Infinite Horde” mechanism that primarily demonstrates the exceptional graphics paired with a very believable combat and physics engine. For someone who is relatively new to VR gaming, this is exactly what I needed. Well paced, visceral, close up combat with terrifyingly good visuals.
I was concerned as I was running on a 1080 connected to Oculus Quest over Virtual Desktop and everything still ran super smooth.
I found the whole experience highly enjoyable and am left looking forward to further updates that expand the environments and gameplay.

Awesome game, if cutting the heads and limbs off of evil beings is your thing.
Graphics looks great! The Gore is perfectly over the top xD had a blast leveling up and getting new skills. Looking forward to playing again soon.

I had a total blast. Very satisfying slash action. I love the way you can slice through and dismember enemies with gratifying ease, versus having to hack at someone for 15 minutes to maybe get a limb off in Blade & Sorcery. I also prefer fighting monsters and critters versus the living sex dolls in B&S. The movement feels great, teleportation is a bit short, but the walking motion is steady enough I don't feel any motion sickness (also an improvement over B&S). The flick action to grab weapons was a bit to get used to at first, the weapons come toward you pretty quick. It would be nice to see them have a bit more weight for a more gratifying catch feel. But again, over B&S, I prefer this method of weapon pick up to the weird force pull. Being able to pick up zombie heads is a nice touch. Love the gore. Game runs smooth but still has interesting visuals. Can't wait to see what future updates brings!

This is a solid VR fighter with some abilities that you unlock as you progress and hoards of enemies to go berserk on. While it doesn't quite have the fighting fidelity that B&E has, it does makeup for it with TONS of flavor and lots of satisfying hacking and slashing that sends still groaning zombie heads flying.
Can't wait to see how this game develops!
My wish-list:
-More enemies coming at me
- More types of enemies
- More environments to progress through
- More weapons

Excellent VR experience. The mood, music, sounds, colors, animations, and the hands-on feel of your weapons all make the experience very immersive. It's a ton of fun so far and just smacking the trolls and goblins with your sword never gets old. They nailed the VR hands, it feels so responsive and natural. Great stuff!
