RECOMMENDED FOR YOU
the GameSentience: The Android’s Tale is a choice-based narrative adventure game from the creator of The Deed series and the Space Pilgrim saga.
- Play through a complex narrative which is influenced by your decisions. Freedom of choice does not come without consequence, for humans or robots. Will you be an obedient servant or plant the seeds of chaos?
- Interact with the forgotten pioneers, the twenty-four colonists stationed on the borderworld of Akritas. Get to know their various stories and backgrounds, obey their commands and earn their trust (or not, as the case may be).
- See the world through the eyes of an android and encounter relevant questions about the future of artificial intelligence.
- At least a dozen possible endings. Every major character may survive or perish during the game as a result of your choices and actions.
- Uncover the mysteries of this desert planet on the edge of space and learn the true nature of your mission, all while reliving the days of good old-fashioned point-and-click adventure games.
- Features mouse, keyboard and controller support.

Interesting adventure game with good writing and interesting NPCs.
The only downside of this game are the limitations of the RPG Maker engine and the poor graphics it brings with it.
My rating 7/10, a recommandation for everyone that likes a good narative experience.

It’s rare to play something that makes you stop and really think about what you’re doing — every choice here feels heavy, every line of dialogue lingers long after you’ve made your decision. There’s a quiet sadness to it all, but also a strange kind of hope, like you’re piecing together what it actually means to exist. The world may feel small, but the questions it asks feel huge, and the story it tells is one that stays with you, long after the screen fades to black.

The plot is cool, the elections feel important, and the atmosphere keeps you engaged until the end.

Surprisingly good game. Nice story, choices do matter. Not a masterpiece but worth the 2~3 hours it takes for a full run.

Sentience: The Android’s Tale, developed by Pilgrim Adventures and published by GrabTheGames, is a narrative-focused adventure game that immerses players in a thought-provoking exploration of artificial intelligence, autonomy, and ethical decision-making. Set on the isolated borderworld of Akritas, the game puts players in the role of a newly awakened android who has no memory of its origins. Tasked with assisting a small human colony struggling to survive, the protagonist’s journey unfolds over a 14-day period, with every choice shaping the fate of the colony and the android itself. The game combines elements of classic point-and-click adventures with modern interactive storytelling, emphasizing the consequences of player decisions.
The heart of Sentience lies in its branching narrative. Players are faced with numerous choices that influence both immediate outcomes and long-term consequences, including relationships with key characters and the ultimate resolution of the story. These decisions carry weight, as the game features multiple endings, encouraging replayability and careful consideration of each action. The writing thoughtfully examines philosophical questions surrounding consciousness, free will, and morality, challenging players to reflect on the ethical implications of artificial intelligence while remaining accessible and engaging for those who may not be familiar with such themes.
Visually, the game adopts a minimalist style characteristic of RPG Maker titles. The environments are functional and uncluttered, allowing players to focus on exploration and dialogue without distraction. While the simplicity of character sprites and static backgrounds may initially feel underwhelming, it aligns with the game’s emphasis on story over spectacle. Some players may find it difficult to distinguish characters during crowded scenes, but the overall aesthetic supports the reflective and deliberate pacing of the narrative.
Gameplay revolves around exploration, conversation, and task completion. Players navigate the colony, interact with colonists, and perform assignments that directly impact the story. While the mechanics are straightforward, the game can feel slow at times due to its deliberate pacing, limited movement speed, and lack of navigational aids. These aspects require patience and attention to detail, particularly when seeking out specific characters or locations. The deliberate pacing reinforces the contemplative tone of the game, though it may not appeal to those who prefer faster, action-oriented experiences.
Despite its minimalist presentation and slower gameplay, Sentience: The Android’s Tale excels in delivering a meaningful narrative experience. Player choices have tangible consequences, and the story’s exploration of AI ethics and identity provides a compelling reason to engage deeply with the world. While the audio design is minimal and the visuals are simple, these limitations are offset by the depth of the writing and the immersive decision-making, which form the core appeal of the game.
Ultimately, Sentience: The Android’s Tale is a thoughtful and introspective adventure that rewards players who enjoy narrative-driven experiences and philosophical inquiry. Its exploration of artificial intelligence, combined with branching storylines and consequential choices, creates a memorable journey that challenges players to consider the ramifications of their decisions. While it may not cater to fans of fast-paced gameplay or visually elaborate worlds, it stands out as a compelling example of interactive storytelling that prioritizes narrative depth, ethical reflection, and player agency.

I like how you can use the "sentient" dialogue choices to skip fetch quests.
