Sea of Roses
A heartwarming game developed remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic by a team of friends who dearly missed each other.
Sea of Roses is best accompanied with tea and cookies!
One day, Marion wakes up in her attic. Odd—she doesn’t really recall falling asleep there. Soon, she realizes that someone else—a girl—is living in her house. But she’s never met her before! And although her village is similar to the one she’s grown up in, it is not identical. And neither are the people.
Marion is now adrift in a world that feels familiar, but is filled with strangers.
What is this place? Who are these people? And where is her fiancé?
Help Marion explore this new world, as she reconsiders her past.
As Marion explores this mysterious world, she will meet a helpful and colorful cast of characters. Using her exploration skills and a little ingenuity, Marion will weave together the stories of her new friends.
The Village of Seallea is a beautiful place to spend some time! Walk through a variety of hand-drawn areas that are a joy to behold. Players compare exploring Seallea to "playing through a dream."
By choosing how Marion responds to other characters, you will affect how she views the world around her. This will determine her experiences throughout the game — and even its eventual outcome.
Sea of Roses is filled with hidden content for players to find! The Tales of Seallea system allows players to easily track which content they haven’t discovered. Marion can easily and repeatedly return to the game to find all the different events and experiences Seallea has to offer!
We understand that not everyone has the time to play games for a long time and so we offer you an option when you play. Sea of Roses is, by design, a short game. However, for those who want to really immerse themselves into the World of Seallea, the Extended Cut offers many hidden—and very special—events that will allow them to experience all that Seallea has to offer!
The Original Cut of the game is briefer, eliminating these extra activities and offering a condensed version of the story. You’ll still get the fundamentals of the storyline but your playtime will be significantly shortened. It’s up to you to play the version you’d like because both are included when you download Sea of Roses!

Honestly, I played the demo and was interested and waiting for the game to come out on release expecting the price to be between £5-£10 and it's free! I loved the game, and also the only game I completed every achievement, it's short game, with really gorgeous art style and colours, with a meaningful story! with cute unique journal.. would recommend! :)

"you were in love and you were trusting. You didn't know that things like that could happen in relationships"
This sentence made me cry, I needed to read it. Thank you.
I knew Jennifer Ann's group and their games for several year and as usual this is a lovely gem. Some aspects seems simple, almost too "black and white", but coming from a similar relationship after 12 years... Some scene were hurtful because they hit too close from home.
It is really nice to see these drawings, almost childish but full of love. The characters are "typical" but not cliché to the point of being annoying. You learn to love them and to see beauty in this world and yours.
I always loved visual novels, clik and collects... and nice stories, this game could have helped me so much 15 years ago.
I hope it will help future people so they don't live it.
(Haha, I wrote this just before the ending...and I had the ending saying exactly the same ^^')
Only bad asepct : the music is sometimes too loud.

RIP Wim I didn't know you, but by the logic of the game you are definitely part of my memories now rest easy homie!
My full playthrough with 100% of achievements/hidden message about Wim and time stamps here when it uploads:
I absolutely adore this game I love it so much it's so heart felt it's definitely an emotional roller coaster with a very strong message. I won't spoil too much, but the way the whole story links together is beautiful and this is one of the only visual novels I've played to completion and not lost my voice, because I was so enthralled in the story and excited to see more of it. I cannot recommend this enough.

Sea of Roses is a game that challenges us to look at our relationships carefully and to question our world view. The world of Sea of Roses is just as beautiful as the interactions between the characters: graphics and soundtrack together with the witty and clever dialogues make a trip to this world a very enjoyable one.
Tip: collect everything! It’s totally worth it :)

Unique art style and positive messaging. I liked that the dialogue choices of what you say throughout the story mattered in what type of end you received, rather than just one decision. Thanks for creating the game! It's nice to see games talking about these types of issues to bring light to these situations.

I have yet to play the third playthrough of this but I can tell you that this is a very well made game.
If you've played choice-related games before, you know that they matter in these games. Same thing applies here. Your decisions during the story will determine the future and the endings.
This game has a very good message, one that becomes clear after a few minutes in the game. Stay away from abusive relationships. As you explore the village Seallea you are introduced to many characters who share similar stories and have beautiful interpretations of what your heart pushes you towards. The final ending is also amazing imo. It's a wonderful story.
Give this game a try. It's emotional and interesting.

This game is short its only about an hour or so long , but it has a great story about deep subject matter as well as a cute art style. You can tell that a lot of love and care went into making this game and since its got multiple endings you can play again make different choices and get a complete different ending.
