Selber mit anpacken
Warum nur Türme bauen, wenn man doch selber mitschießen kann?
Gameplay
“Sanctum 2” ist ein kooperatives Tower-Defense, in dem wir nicht nur Türme aus der Ego-Perspektive aufbauen, sondern selber auch mit auf die Feinde schießen. Im Grunde war es dann auch schon an Beschreibung. Es gibt verschiedene Arten von Türmen, die wir mit sinnvollen Barrikaden kombinieren, um ihr Potenzial möglichst weit auszureizen. Jeder Spieler kann nur maximal vier verschiedene Türme mitnehmen, also ist Absprache im Coop wirklich sinnvoll. Die Level sind mal mehr, mal weniger abwechlungsreich und ebenso mal einfacher, mal deutlich schwerer. Wenn du zum Level „Straßenkreuzung“ kommst, verzage nicht.
Story
Die Story wird nur in kleinen Comic Stripes auf Ladebildschirmen erzählt. Ganz ehrlich: So ganz habe ich da nicht aufgepasst. Aber irgendwie wird die futuristische Stadt wohl von einer Art Seuche angegriffen.
Grafik/Sound
Die Grafik erinnert mich vorallem an Chrome. Also nicht den Browser, sondern die Legierung. Und sehr viel Comic-Look. Als würde man Borderlands rückwärts entwickeln. Das Spiel hat ein paar Jahre auf dem Buckel und sieht wirklich nicht taufrisch aus. Das hat es aber auch schon zum Release nicht unbedingt 100%, aber es war auch schon damals ein kleines Team.
DLCs
Es gibt eine nicht gerade kleine Bandbreite an Zusatzinhalten in Form von Karten, Fähigkeiten, Waffen und sogar einem neuen Charakter. Nur das „Britech Skin Paket“ kann mal wohl vernachlässigen. Die DLCs braucht man definitiv nicht zu Beginn, beinhalten aber ein paar mächtige Sachen, die das Spiel vermutlich auch einfacher machen können. Allerdings sind die Preise recht happig, da es die Keys nicht auf anderen Seiten gibt und auch in Steamsales der Preis nicht gesenkt wird.
Fazit
Der Markt für kooperative Tower-Defense im Ego Format ist klein. „Sanctum 2“ macht dabei einen guten Job und macht als Gruppe oder vielleicht auf einer kleinen LAN-Party durchaus Spaß. Alleine würde ich mir den Titel allerdings nicht kaufen. Für kleines Geld kann man mit Freunden durchaus mal für ein 1-2 Abende seinen Spaß mit dem Spiel haben. Insgesamt ist es aber eben schon echt angestaubt und es bräuchte hier wirklich moderne Alternativen. Aber abgesehen von ein paar Frustmomenten hat mir das Spiel auch nach über 10 Jahren noch echt Spaß gemacht und in uns nochmal richtig den Ehrgeiz geweckt.
Bessere Alternativen? Die könnte ich dir vielleicht anbieten, wenn du mal in meiner Steamgruppe oder der German Steam Community vorbeischaust.
