Saints Row: The Third
Years after taking Stilwater for their own, the Third Street Saints have evolved from street gang to household brand name, with Saints sneakers, Saints energy drinks and Johnny Gat bobble head dolls all available at a store near you. The Saints are kings of Stilwater, but their celebrity status has not gone unnoticed. The Syndicate, a legendary criminal fraternity with pawns in play all over the globe, has turned its eye on the Saints and demands tribute. Refusing to kneel to the Syndicate, you take the fight to Steelport, a once-proud metropolis reduced to a struggling city of sin under Syndicate control. Take a tank skydiving, call in a satellite-targeted airstrike on a Mexican wrestling gang, and defend yourself against a highly-trained military force using only a sex toy in the most out- landish gameplay scenarios ever seen, igniting a city-wide war that will set Steelport on fire. Strap it on.

This was my first game in the franchise and a straight up childhood classic. I spent an unhealthy amount of time playing this game. The dialogue is completely insane, the storyline is even more unhinged, and the amount of sex jokes is so high that I’m pretty sure half of them went over my head when I was a kid.
A lot of critics dismissed it as a GTA clone, which is honestly crazy. Saints Row The Third doesn’t want to be GTA at all. It wants you to hit people with a giant purple dildo, jump out of planes with no plan, and constantly wonder what the developers were thinking in the best way possible. The game fully commits to chaos, absurd humor, and pure fun.
The side missions and challenges are hilarious, creative, and sometimes completely stupid, but in a good way. The characters are ridiculous, the world is wild, and the game never stops trying to outdo itself.
This is my third time replaying the game, and it somehow still holds up. It’s still funny, still dumb, and still insanely fun. Play it yourself and you’ll quickly realize this game isn’t a GTA clone, it’s a glorious fever dream.

BEWARE! If you live/buy this game in germany, you will have the "low-violence" version forced on you. This also counts as a different game version for coop, which means that you are unable to play with anyone who is not using the censored version i.e. everyone outside of germany.
This is a massive shame since the game is a lot of fun and i would heavily recommend it. Sadly i can not test the coop, since the people i want to play with live in countries with less draconic game censorship

Saints Row The Third is pure, chaotic fun. It doesn’t take itself seriously for a second, and that’s what makes it so great. wild weapons, and over-the-top moments that somehow keep topping each other. It’s goofy, loud, and completely unhinged but in the best way possible. If you’re just looking to mess around and have a blast, this game delivers big time.

One of my favorite games of any genre. Fun for fun's sake.
Pro-tip: Don't skip the satchel charge weapon. I have probably spent 20 hours finding new ways to use those sticky menaces—my favorite being sticking them to the elderly and tossing those grannies into traffic. Behold, the gran-ade!

The perfect amount of absurd realism. Just fun to play over and over again.

Playing Saints Row: The Third feels like a chaotic daydream where you're gently encouraged to embrace absurdity and simply go with the flow.
In this open-world, third-person adventure, you guide your created character through Steelport, a city controlled by rival gangs known as the Syndicate. If you're used to previous Saints Row games, you'll easily be familiar with these roles in the game.
Your main mission? Help resurrect the Third Street Saints. Along the way, you'll complete wacky main story missions and utilize a wide array of weapons, specialized vehicles, and much more.
Outside the story, you can navigate a delightful mix of side activities like insurance fraud or even guardian angels.
All strangely inventive ways to gain money and respect.
Overall, Saints Row: The Third isn't about polish or precision. It's about embracing an explosion of color, humor, and unexpected moments, all wrapped up in a surprisingly smooth, modern action movie.
The game is also (half) playable with a VR Mod:
