Roads Of Rome: Portals Collector’s Edition
A valiant Centuria was returning home after a victorious campaign. Suddenly, a storm, which was rapidly approaching the ship, appeared on the horizon. The team prepared for the worst. A monstrous storm broke out. The ship was tossed from side to side, and giant waves were covering it one after another. The squad was already saying their last farewells to life. The incredible storm, having played enough with the ship, smashed it like a toy on the rocks of a deserted island. Fortunately, many managed to survive.
The small, lifeless island seemed to promise nothing but death. The surviving centurians wandered through it in search of food, but found only the entrance to the cave. The Romans entered the cave. And they froze in surprise when they saw something strange and magical in front of them, something that looked like a portal. After a brief consultation, the squad decided to meet their fate and go into this portal. There was nothing else they could do. And they bravely stepped into the unknown.
By some quirk of fate, a group of brave Romans found themselves in mysterious worlds. Help them find their way back home. Build settlements, clear paths, defeat enemies. All for the glory of Rome!

I have the full collection. The Portals Collectior's Edition is the best and challenging. I like the hidden treasures' hint where I know what I am suppose to serve for unlike the previous edition. Keep up the good works.

TL;DR: It's fun, challenging time management game. Compared to the classic Roads of Rome games it is upgraded with new mechanics. If you like the classic game, buy it already!
The main objective of the game is to repair the road and complete additional objectives within a given time. You have to remove all obstacles, build bridges, defeat opponents. To achieve this you also have to build some infrastructure like sawmill, farm, gold miner, stone miner etc.
The game seems quite easy at first. But the number of new complex mechanisms quickly changes this state. It's really challenging at later levels. And time limit seems to be getting shorter...
Comparing to the classic Roads of Rome games, there some new features that I really like and they gives some more complex to the game:
- Each level of HQ have now two workers
- Some of the work can be done by using two workers to double the speed of constructions or obstacle removal. E.g. fixing roads, building houses, bridges, clearing bushes.
- Hidden caches: There are small icons to the right, so you know what you are looking for. No more searching websites for the clues!
- At later levels there some flowers that can gather some materials from buildings for you
- Some people needs to be 'rescued' before they can help you.

Love these little games and the prices. Why are there not more releases in Steam? I see in Big Fish but won't use that anymore.

So far it is working better than the earlier version. I'll modify if necessary as I continue to play the game.
