You are a Road Engineer. Build roads and bridges to lead vehicles to destination.
Different vehicles (car, van, moto, truck, bus), different roads (normal, large, bridge).
Avoid traffic jams, stay under limited cost, optimize time or speed, reach a distance.
Every level is a specific challenge depending on available features, board size, and objectives.
80 levels with progressive difficulty.
A leaderboard by level to compare to best Road Engineers !
Try the demo to make up your mind.

Ok I think I played enough to explain few things.
At the beginning, game could be a little confusing. For example in the first level you have to create the longest possible road, I didn't expect that at all and I needed few minutes to figure it out. Overall first levels are here to learn so I would say the fun really starts after training levels. You can try the demo, it contains all these training levels. If you are bored before to complete them, this game is not for you.
This is not a chill game, don't expect to solve levels on first try. This is not a full simulation game. No roads with multiple lanes, no traffic lights, drivers are a little too perfect in avoiding collisions. And a limit to 8 possible paths leading to destination. I understand purpose is to avoid players to create too many roads so drivers will always find a good one but it's not very realistic and this can be frustating sometimes.
This is clearly a puzzle game but still with some simulation aspects. Drivers can choose the best path when the shortest one is crowded. A little slowdown at an intersection will slow all following vehicles and can lead to traffic jams pretty quickly. On the other hand when you succeed to avoid slowdown this could change traffic on following intersections because you bring more cars faster on them.
Levels are pretty different, I couldn't find an unique method working all the time. My advices :
- Don't try to solve level before to even build the first road. Start by something straight and simple then you will have a way better look to what you should do.
- Big detour doesn't work very well. Ok you could make smooth flow but actually you nearly always loose time.
- When you can't avoid traffic jam at an intersection, creating another road could help you by sharing flow between multiple intersections.
- Special crossings (when cars can't change direction) are very effective to avoid the 8 possible paths limit.
- When you seem stuck and without idea, just clear roads and try again. New ideas and solutions will come by themselves.
Overall good time with this game. Leaderboards are not so full for now, I will probably go back in some time to check best scores and try to reach them. I like to optimize my solutions :)

If you like simple yet complex puzzles, this game is for you. It contains 80 levels, each very different from one another.

Very interesting game. Each level is different, you have to think to solve them and to think hard to reach top positions in leaderboards.

Simply put, it's a great game to play and contribute your time, it requires a complete fusion with the game mechanics to gain the pleasure and emotion of the game.
Each level is different from each other. it requires a lot of thinking to get full points. you should try this game if you are interested in organizing roads.

A nice but difficult puzzle game involving traffic.

It's a fun little traffic management puzzle game, with various types of creative challenges, going way beyond the classic "just make sure everyone gets everywhere fast".
Does not run on the Steam Deck/Linux out of the box, but you can install the dotnet bullsh!t manually by using Bottles (found on the Discover store in desktop mode on the Deck, and similarly as flatpak on regular Linux), enabling managing of proton profiles in the settings, and then once you find the game (might need to restart the app, and if that still doesn't work, try running the game at least once (don't click anything, just terminating it via Steam is already enough), and restart Bottles again); then go one by one thru all the "dotnet" in the dependencies and install them, including the "core" ones (I have not bothered checking which versions are needed, just added all of them, takes too long. After all that is done, you can close bottles, close Steam in case you had it open, and reopen steam/go back to game mode on the Deck; and then you can finally play the game (no control mappings yet, but it can be played with just mouse, most of it is already in the standard no-layout stock layout, you might just need to set an unused button for the middle-button mouse click if I'm not mistaken).

Road Engineer is a game where you need to think and think well if you want to win 3 stars for each levels, sometime you'll need to do the level 3 times to earn the 3 stars, but it's very rewarding when you do it in one try.
If you enjoy a good mental challenge, this game will provide you with hours of exciting and challenging gameplay.
The tutorial needs some refinement to be more user-friendly.
For those who like to "case their head" a bit, Road Engineer is definitely worth a try.
