Rise of the Tomb Raider

The story of Rise of the Tomb Raider is well done. The game with all DLCs has 143 achievements. Easy to learn, hard to master. My favourite part of the game is the survival mode called "endurance" which is pretty awesome. It's possible to play this mode co-op.

Die Balance zwischen Rätseln, Kämpfen und der faszinierenden Story macht dieses Spiel zu einem echten Highlight im Genre. :)

When I started playing Rise of the Tomb Raider for the first time in 2024, I had some initial concerns. On one hand, the game is visually stunning and offers a captivating story. On the other hand, there were technical issues that initially held back the experience.
In terms of graphics, even with my 4060 TI 8GB, the game demanded more than 8GB of VRAM at very high settings, particularly with PureHair and Shadows on Very High, which caused performance drops and occasional crashes. After adjusting some settings—like turning PureHair off and lowering shadows to High—I reduced the VRAM usage by over 1.6 GB, and all stuttering and crashes disappeared. Anyone facing similar issues should tweak these settings, and also consider turning off Bloom and Film Grain for a smoother experience.
Regarding the savegame bugs, since my last playthrough, I haven’t encountered any more issues, and it seems these problems have been fixed. I believe they were likely related to the game’s high VRAM demands, but since optimizing the settings, everything has been running smoothly, with no further technical problems.
The gameplay is absolutely fantastic! The puzzles and combat are engaging, and the story continues to be incredibly immersive. Now that the technical hurdles are out of the way, I’m enjoying the game to its fullest. I’m about 35% through the story, and it’s been an amazing experience—a true masterpiece. Despite the initial issues, the game has completely won me over, and I happily give it a thumbs up!

Das Spiel ist der absolute Hammer und hat mich total gefesselt. Die Mischung aus Geschichte, Erkunden und Action ist perfekt abgestimmt, es gibt genügend Zeit und Möglichkeiten die wunderschönen Gegenden zu erkunden sowie auch actionreiche Kämpfe.

Ich danke den Entwicklern für dieses grandiose Spiel.

Das beste Spiel der aktuellen Trilogie. Handlung, Setting und Immersion einfach perfekt auch vor dem Hintergrund, dass die 'Horror'-Elemente in Form von 'Zombies', 'Blut' und 'Massen von Leichen' in diesem Teil am geringsten sind.

Excellent game! Enjoying it as much as the 2013 one, even better because the QTE are gone. Great graphics, controls, story, action, puzzles....and most of all, cool protagonist character!

Als Fan der ersten Stunde muss ich einfach meine Begeisterung für Rise of the Tomb Raider teilen. Zugegeben, ich bin vielleicht nicht ganz objektiv, aber dieses Spiel hat mich wirklich umgehauen!
Die Grafik ist einfach beeindruckend und die Welt fühlt sich lebendig an. Es gibt so viele kleine Details, die die Umgebung authentisch wirken lassen. Die Rätsel sind genau richtig – herausfordernd, aber nie frustrierend. Die Story packt einen und ich habe mich durchweg mit Lara verbunden gefühlt. Sie ist und bleibt eine meiner Lieblingsfiguren im Gaming.
Klar, es gibt immer Kleinigkeiten, die man kritisieren könnte, aber insgesamt fühlt sich das Spiel wie eine Hommage an die Fans an. Wenn du wie ich ein echter Tomb Raider-Fan bist, wirst du hier auf jeden Fall auf deine Kosten kommen.
Aber wie schon oben genannt, es ist nur meine persönliche Meinung - und es ist auch meine erste Rezension...
