Rhythm Doctor is a rhythm game in a world where defibrillating patients’ hearts in sync with their heartbeats has healing properties. Slam your spacebar in perfect time on the 7th beat, and they might just come out okay. But beware – every patient has unique illnesses based on complex music theory: polyrhythms, hemiolas, irregular time signatures…if you don’t know what they mean, don’t worry. Rhythm Doctor is designed to make you learn music and rhythm theory without even realising it!

Als ich die Trailer auf YouTube gesehen hatte, dachte ich erst mal: Dieses Spiel ist sicher ziemlich schwer. Aber es sieht zu interessant aus, also hatte ich mir das Spiel im Early Access gekauft.
Nach und nach kamen mit den Updates viele Barrierefreiheit-Optionen hinzu und dafür möchte ich den Entwicklern meine Hochachtung mitteilen. Denn diese wurden so gestaltet, dass auch jene, die diese Optionen nicht brauchen, trotzdem daran Interesse zeigen dürften.
Mit diesen Einstellungen war es sogar mir möglich, fast alle Achievements zu ergattern. (Auch wenn ein paar Level trotzdem recht anspruchsvoll geblieben sind.) Nach dem ersten Durchspielen eines Songs kann man die Geschwindigkeit auswählen, was es nochmals interessanter macht.
Und auf deutsch ist es sogar auch noch gut übersetzt. Ich hatte mit Rhythm Doctor echt viel Spaß, auch wenn manche Achievements viele Versuche benötigt haben. Aber auch ohne die Achievements kann ich Rhythm Doctor allen Rhythmus-Interessierten empfehlen.
Wenn ich A Dance of Fire and Ice (von den selben Entwicklern) und Rhythm Doctor vergleichen müsste wäre es wie folgt:
ADoFaI: hektisch, vielseitig, schwer
RD: nicht hektisch, mainstream, anspruchsvoll -- hiermit hatte ich viel mehr Spaß
Und dann gibt es bei Rhythm Doctor auch noch eine Geschichte. Man verpasst nichts, wenn man sie überspringt, aber es ist schon ganz nett. Achtet auf eure Gesundheit und habt viel Spaß.

It is quite a short game where many of the tracks that play are ... medium. But the ones that do shine shine really really bright.
While this might sound like a big recommendation, I got to admit that I tremendously enjoyed playing this game. So if you can afford it, give it a shot. At least until the "Glitch Samurai" level.
I can wholeheartedly recommend it. This game for sure has one (or a few) caring devs behind it.

Aus der Sicht von jemanden, der noch nicht viele Rhytmus-Spiele gespielt hat: das hier lohnt sich! Zum einen gibt es richtig gute Musik, und das ist an sich auch einfach zu lernen und zu bedienen... es gibt nur einen Knopf. Tatsächlich wird es dann aber trotz der einfachen Mechaniken auch in einzelnen Stages sehr schwer - da beißt man sich mal locker 'ne Stunde in eine einzelne Stage beißt, bis es klappt. Dennoch finde ich es nicht unfair, wenn man das Spiel einfach nur durchspielen möchte. Die Achievements bzw. S+-Ratings sind dann aber nochmal eine ganz andere Hausnummer.
