Return of the Obra Dinn

Only two things I didn't enjoy much were:

-Wording of some death causes or different death causes were sometimes quite similar so the correct one is a bit of guessing and can get annoying at times
-When the corpse in a scene triggers another scene and the player is thrown from scene to scene without the time to explore them so you have to backtrack them bit by bit again

A masterpiece. There is no fancy over the top gimmick, where you already have the answers in front of you. It is just your pocket watch, some corpses to investigate and your ability for logical thinking. The game starts slow and teaches you how to make your deductions and figure out what happened to all the crew members. How the game plays is easy: When you see a corpse you pull out your watch and start investigating the scene. The game then asks you 2 questions: Who is this person? And how did they die? It is then up to you to figure out who this is and what their fate is - there is no UI to come and (for some people) ruin your immersion or (for others) help you out if your stuck. You don't need a good head on your shoulders to play this game. You will get better after making your first deductions and using the right methods to figure the whole story out. I would definetly play a similar game to this and I can only recommend this to anyone interested in it.
Here's a little something to help out the sleuth on their adventure: always be on the lookout for anything you can use to identify someone, because tiny details can hint you to the answer you desire and always take notes of clues in case you might forget them.

One of those PERFECT games. From the atmosphere, story and puzzles. Really what a game should be. Get it if you like to hunt clues and know what happend on the Obra Dinn.

This game has a unique style to it. The way the cases are presented, the difficulty and small details to some of them make it super interesting to investigate. And if not for that, the satisfaction to find some of the deceased name and deaths feels quite satisfying.

Ein sehr cooles Rätselspiel. Ich hatte sehr viel Spaß, auch wenn ich an einer Stelle sehr gestruggelt habe. Das lag aber an mir und nicht am Spiel. Sehr zu empfehlen! Ich würde es am liebsten nochmal spielen :)
Und die Musik ist sehr cool und untermalt das geschehen und reagiert teilweise auf den Spieler!

Sehr interessantes Spiel, der Grafikstil gefällt für das Setting und die Geschichte wird durch die Flashbacks ausreichend genug erzählt, sodass ein Teil der eigenen Fantasie überlassen wird. Auch werden nicht alle Lösungen auf dem Silbertablett serviert, manchmal sind auch hintergründige Informationen zur Identifikation der Opfer wichtig, um eine Zuordnung richtig zu treffen. Voice-Acting und musikalische Untermalung sind für so einen kleinen Titel hervorragend.

This is one of the best and iconic games I`ve ever played. An absolute gem, very special in terms of style and mechanics. I Paired with a phantastic soundtrack and awesome voice sounds, this is really a piece of art.
If you like adventures, its a must! If you dont like adventures, then this one is the first you will like.
