✬★ My first Resident Evil ever ★✬
Resident Evil Revelations 2 holds a special place in my heart as my gateway into the Resident Evil universe. I remeber buying it after getting bored of Animal Crossing on my Switch.
NOTE: My sole focus and experience is based on the campaign mode, NOTHING else.
✰ Graphics ✰:
The visuals are okay, I'd say... good? I have a few screenshots of this game on my profile if you're interested.
While not groundbreaking, the constant glare effect adds something to the survival horror vibe perfectly. Cutscenes are beautifully rendered.
✰ Gameplay and Combat ✰:
I really like the gameplay mechanics and combat system!
You're using firearms with Claire and Barry.
But for Moira and Natalia? it's different!
Moira: uses a crowbar. personal reasons why she doesn't want to hold a gun (you'll find out if you play the story)
Natalia: she a kid. she throw brick.
While I'm more a fan to a classic merchant for upgrades, the system here is fine.
✰ Enemies/Monsters ✰:
The enemy designs are a standout feature for me. Each creature is so uniquely terrifying! This game has one of my fave enemy designs out of RE.
✰ Story and Characters ✰:
The storyline is fantastic, unfolding episodically through our duos - Claire and Moira or Barry and Natalia. Claire Redfield: an icon, a badass as always.
Moira: is a sassy teeny-like adult, I'd compare her to Ashley from RE4. You'll warm up to her.
Barry: quest to find his daughter and
Natalia's unique abilities add intriguing layers to the unfolding mystery.
✰ Criticism ✰:
I was so confused when I purchased the game on Steam recently. WDYM you have to pay for the whole game... AS A DLC?!?! It seems so weirdly scammy. However, despite this confusion (that many had after reading a few reviews), I find the game itself so captivating that Ipersonally feel that the additional content is worth the investment.
✰ Conclusion ✰:
Resident Evil Revelations 2 remains a standout entry in my gaming library.
The core experience of tense gameplay, storytelling, and memorable characters makes it a must-play for any survival horror enthusiast. If you can look past the DLC structure, diving into this game is a decision you won't regret.

As a die-hard fan of the Resident Evil franchise, I can confidently say that Resident Evil Revelations 2 is one of the best titles in the series. From its engaging story to its intense gameplay, all aspects of this game combine to create an unforgettable experience for players.
One of the standout features of Resident Evil Revelations 2 is its captivating storyline. The game takes place between the events of Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6, and follows the story of Claire Redfield and Moira Burton as they navigate their way through a remote island filled with terrifying creatures - Featuring Barry Burton and newcomer Natalia. The plot twists and turns, keeping players on the edge of their seats as they uncover the mysteries of the island and the sinister Umbrella Corporation behind it all.
But what truly elevates Resident Evil Revelations 2 is its Raid mode. This mode allows players to team up with a friend or go solo to take on various challenges and missions. The variety and intensity of these missions make for an exhilarating experience, and the option to play with a friend adds an extra layer of fun and excitement. Moreover, the rewards earned in Raid mode can be used in the main game, giving players the opportunity to unlock new weapons and upgrades.
The gameplay in Resident Evil Revelations 2 is also top-notch. The third-person perspective and controls are smooth and intuitive, making it easy to navigate through the game. The combat mechanics are also well-executed, with a good mix of action and survival elements. The game also introduces some new elements, such as the ability to switch between characters during gameplay, adding a unique twist to the classic Resident Evil formula.
In terms of graphics and sound, Resident Evil Revelations 2 sets the bar high. The detailed environments, realistic character models, and eerie atmosphere all contribute to the overall experience. The sound effects and soundtrack are also spot on, adding to the tension and suspense of the game.
Overall, Resident Evil Revelations 2 is a must-play for any fan of the Resident Evil series. From its gripping story to its addictive gameplay, it offers everything that makes a great horror game. And with the addition of the Raid mode, it is a game that will keep players engaged long after the main story is completed. I highly recommend giving it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Decided to finally play through all the olderRE games on PC starting with 0 all the way to 6 (saving the remakes for later). After the ridiculous (albeit very fun) action fest that RE5, it was interesting to come to RErev 2. The episodic format is engaging, leaving you at a cliffhanger after each chapter but I found lots to enjoy in both campaigns. Swapping between characters to tackle different situations is clever and their abilities compliment each other nicely. After RE5 I figured Resident Evil had largely abandoned its horror roots but they came back in a big way for this game so if you're looking for an older RE game that will have you once more dreading what could be lurking around the next corner you'll enjoy this.

OVERVIEW: Given I played regularly the first 3 CAPCOM iterations of the Resident Evil saga on PS1 and later on some of the other versions, to a lesser extent, I was so hyped when I bought RE Revelations 2 because I could turn back the tides of time.
Pros
-» Gameplay: well thought out, you can make a dash forward to escape or turn 180º in a blink of an eye to prevent getting ambushed. Meaningful characters with distinct skills and weapons
-» Soundtrack and sound effects: blends well with the ambience with convincing sound effects to back it up
-» Graphics: gloomy but not to a state that is a nuisance. Spetacular checkpoints movies
-» Bosses: none on this first episode but that just makes you interested on the next ones!
-» Replayability: Decent since you can shop to upgrade your skills onto higher difficulty levels
-» Difficulty: very balanced
Cons
-» Would enjoy a bit longer episode 1 but that isn’t a deterrent for me to recommend RE R2
SUMMARY: Valuable game with the benefit of buying it cheaper and see how much you enjoy each episode before acquiring the rest. Joyful co-op synergy if you have a teammate around too
7.5/10 gaming scale
Disclosure: After clearing the main campaign and, as I comeback for new sessions or new updates arise by developers, I intend to keep revising this review
