A game that sadly could've been a masterpiece. Don't get me wrong, i'm not saying this game is bad. No, definitely it's not. Actually, the game by itself is perfectly fine. It has a good story and solid gameplay with stunning graphics and i have no problem with it. The problem comes when you compare it to the original game. As a remake, this game isn't that good. It has missed out a lot of locations and puzzles. There is no clock tower, dead factory, park and cemetery. I don't get why Capcom rushed this one so hard. They really could've made this game a masterpiece...
Overall, the game is good and worth a try. I would NOT recommend buying at full price though.

Resident Evil 3 a third person survival horror and a remake of the 1999 game Resident Evil 3: Nemesis.
The remake features modern graphics and gameplay, so no tank controls or fixed camera angles.
The story takes place two months after the events of Resident Evil and 24 hours prior the events of Resident Evil 2. Most citizens of Raccoon City are zombies now.
Jill Valentine, a former member of the Raccoon Police Department's Special Tactics And Rescue Service (S.T.A.R.S.), and survivor of the Spencer Mansion Incident (Resident Evil 1) is attacked in her apartment by an intelligent bioweapon known as Nemesis, programmed by Umbrella to kill the surviving S.T.A.R.S. members.
While beeing chased from the this unstoppable monster Jill has to find a way to escape Raccon City as the U.S. government plans to destroy the whole city in a missile strike to eradicate the T-virus infestation.
Resident Evil 3 has great graphics and good looking character models and environments.
The voice acting and sounds are great.
While the game is a good remake overall from my point of view, it is really short (around 5 hours) which is the result of missing contentt compared to the original game. There are missing areas. This areas include The City Hall, The Press Office, The Raccoon City Park, The Graveyard, and The Dead Factory.
Also The Mercenaries game mode is missing. It was a mode players could unlock after beating the game. Players could play as different characters and needed to reach a goal in a certain amount of time.
Capcom should have invested more resources in remaking missing areas and other missing content instead of making a bad multiplayer (comes free with purchase of Resident Evil 3) that nobody has asked for.
59,99 € might be too much for some people in terms of the short duration. However, if it is on sale I can recommend to get this game.
Sounds 10/10
Graphics 10/10
Gameplay 9/10
Atmosphere 9/10

Very good game but sadly very short, i don't think it's worth the full price.

Review from Steam

Over-hated and overpriced. This game may not be for everyone, but it's certainly a LOT better than haters want you to believe. There's a persistent group of toxic naysayers that'll insult anyone's intelligence for liking this game, but keep in mind these are the same people who bought it at full price at launch without doing their research. Guess they aren't as smart as they claim to be...
I definitely agree $60 is kind of an excessive asking price, but if you can get it for less than $20 on sale then it's a deal. Taking a deeper look it's important to start with why you might not want to play RE3:R.
Cons:
-Cut content. This is a fair criticism as some cool locations were cut from the original game that are definitely missed. Puzzles are also far more rare, which is kind of a fun staple of the series. One thing to consider though is that even though content was cut, stuff was added as well. Both this AND the original clock in at around 6 hours to beat for a casual player and I don't think enough people bring that up.
-Gameplay is more linear than RE2:R. I don't mind being on rails a bit, but this game felt a little too straight forward at times for a RE game.
-Nemesis pathing is weird. He's not like Mr. X in RE2 who actively stalks you for a portion of the game (TBH, I don't mind this because I hate that mechanic) BUT Nemesis just kind of warps in front of you and at times randomly pins you into a corner. Feels awkward/forced.
-Replay value is a little weak. They do have a cool upgrade shop, but the incentive isn't as high as the multiple routes found in RE2.
-The story is lackluster overall and feels like a tacked-on side story. To be fair, I thought original was like this too. What really saves the story is...
Pros:
-Characters: JILL. Oh god, I love Jill. She has the PERFECT level of Resident Evil cheesy dialogue--"bitch can't even swim"--and badassery without going too overboard with either. I know some people prefer the edgier/grittier characters, but I can't say no to characters like RE 3 Jill and RE4 Leon--"Where's everyone going? Bingo?" Carlos is also far more likable in this version in my opinion. He just seemed so bland in the original. Now he's like Keanu Reeves with fluffy hair. Does that seem bland to you? Well, fuck you. Side characters aren't much to write about, but Jill and Carlos end up carrying all the weight.
-Fun gameplay. If you liked the gunplay in RE2 then there is more of that here along with more action and even some better mechanics. I much preferred RE3's dodge to RE2's defense items. Granted, I like a little more survival-horror in my RE, but the action take is pretty fun too.
-Graphics are excellent with a good enough rig.
-Music (both new and returning) are solid.
-Good keyboard and mouse support.
-Strong mod scene. You've probably seen the screenshots and reviews highlighting the sexualized mods, so those are there for you if that's your thing, but there are also really awesome mods that aren't oversexualized as well. I spent a portion of the game with Jill wearing things like her BSAA outfit from RE5 and Doomslayer-style armor. NEAT!
So my stance is to not let the negative part of the fanbase get to you and to make the choice for yourself. Sure, the game has its flaws, but if those aren't enough to deter you then there is a pretty fun game waiting for you. Just make sure to get it on sale.

Good game, but really really short for its price tag.
Graphics, performance and sound are the same as RE2 remake, which are amazing, i still cant believe how good the RE engine looks, the game controls the same, and everything.
Story wise they skipped some stuff from the original RE3. It's also more action focused than RE2 remake, so less puzzles and backtracking, and the few it has are on a much smaller scale so you only need to backtrack a few corridors and probably wont be needed to make runs to the storage.
If you loved RE2 Remake and want to continue playing as Jill and Carlos during the events of RE2 on other locations (It all happens in the same timeframe as RE2 remake) grab it on sale.
