This game was very fun to play however it gave me a very high level of stress when i was trying to figure out how to escape from the police station when i was getting chased by not only the zombies but the bald ugly fucker who was on my ass the whole time and even after i was done he still followed i hate him for ever and ever amen.

I used to play this with my cousin on our Playstation 1, good times... I'm glad it got remade into something good like this, it brought up countless good memories running around scared like a cat in RPD because of Mr. X and Lickers. I miss those moments, sadly he's gone now. With this game I'm able to reflect those fond memories, thank you Capcom for this great game <3

Far less flamboyant than the later entries, RE2 takes us back to those simple days when Leon wasn't an unstoppable somersaulting action hero, and merely a few zombie bites could put him down for the count. This is true survival horror (not that I have a problem with action RE; actually, I friggin' love it). Movement is slow and cumbersome. Ammo is limited. Even knives -- I primarily used mine to fillet downed zombos and save shells -- break readily, and unless you play it close, it's easy to be left with nothing. The creatures in this game are complete bullet sponges, so stay calm and watch your aim! It's no mean feat to center your reticle on the noggin of a shuffling undead when he's swinging it around like Will Smith in the Fresh Prince of Bel Air opening.
What you've probably heard most about is Mr. X: an unkillable, wrinkly terminator guy in a cute detective hat who pursues you, slow-stridin' Jason Vorhees-style, through select portions of the game. If you've played Haunting Ground or Clocktower 3, it's nothing quite so elaborate; you can't hide behind credenzas or distract him with fine chocolates, only run away (and smack-dab into the claws of a licker), and if he catches you, he simply karate punches you into the afterlife with his big meaty fist. Hi-yah! It's that stressful kind of fun that opens up your adrenal glands and makes you scream "I hate it! I hate it!" like a small, spoiled child. But you love it, really, because it makes you feel alive inside, and that's what these games are all about. Watching your brother/friend play is just as engrossing as playing yourself.
If you're an RE fan, make sure to go through both segments. They're pretty similar, but each has its own supporting characters, one radically different side-story in the middle, and a unique final boss. If for some reason you can only play one, pick Claire's. It's got the most meat.
Speaking of meat, the opening shot in this game? It's a super close-up of the most disgusting, detailed, squishiest, greasiest fast food burger I've seen in a video game. That's got to be a first!

I've played the game for about 175 hours as of writing, got 100% of the achievements, made around 60 mods for this game in about a year... I guess you could say I like the game.

This game is what other developers should aspire to when creating a remake. It is hands down the best remake I have ever played.
I remember getting this game for my birthday in third grade and my little brother watched me play for what felt like an eternity. That sparked my brothers' obsession with the resident evil franchise. I, however, did not play much of the following titles in the series. I would watch him here and there and watched the movies. I ended up getting an Xbox and Halo was my obsession. With the remake of the third one and RE: Village on the way I figured it was finally time for me to really wet my whistle with what Capcom has to offer.
This game is by far more terrifying than anything I remember playing in third grade. Parts in the original that have been implanted into my cerebral cortex out of sheer terror back then have now manifested themselves into brand new nightmares thanks to the modern revamp of the games engine with the graphics being some of the most realistic horrors I've seen even in Hollywood movies. I'm on my third or fourth playthrough and I still scream like a little girl at parts. The game is fucking terrifying. Between lickers popping out of vents, the 15-foot terminator known as Mr. X chasing you all over the goddamn place, zombies behind doors, in lockers to WHATEVER THE HELL those things in the sewers are... it's enough to give you a glimpse into quite possibly, what Hell is.
Iconic cutscenes, boss introductions, and other favoritable parts have been altered or changed in a way that keeps the game fresh but still so grounded to its core roots. Giving new players a great and new experience while giving the veteran players something to smile at in nostalgia.
Perhaps one of my favorite things in this game is the dismemberment. Really gives you that dead space sense of cutting your enemies down to a meat sack of nothing before pumping a few more rounds into their heads to make sure they're not getting back up.
The only thing I wish this game had was more content. Yes, I know there are bonus missions but that still is not enough. I just want more. Sadly, the RE3 remake ain't it. I'll review that later :/
tl;dr 10/10
