Edit: The Dev got back saying that this is indeed early access.
Original Review.
I felt like a starcraft space marine fighting in the gears of war world.
The Good.
Visually stunning.
A fun movement mechanic that encourages on the fly firing.
Strangely decent voice acting.
Left me wanting more.
The Bad.
This is a demo... It's about 8-15 minutes depending on if you just rush through the objectives or explore a little.
About a third of that are cutscenes where you have no control.
While the game is beautiul, there is fog everywhere, obscuring anything more than about 100 feet from your character.
The Ugly.
This demo costs 99 cents... not a bank breaker, but the end throws up a banner saying the game will release early 2018, meaning that this is either a promo demo... that you have to buy. Or, as I am hoping, but probably isn't, basically an early access launch, where if you jump now, you get the full thing when it releases.
If your arms are longer (as mine are) or shorter than that of the character, you can expect some very strange interactions.
Many times I would reach for something, only to find that while I could reach it no problem, the characters hand stopped about 6 inches before mine.
This is one of those games where I wish there were yes or no conditional options in steams recommendations.

This is $0.99. The developer says it will be a full game in 2018, and I really hope they deliver. For your .99 you get about 10minutes worth of gameplay. I played it on the rift and the prompts are for the vive controllers ( was to be expected, it doesn't say the rift is even supported, but it works just fine once you figure out what button to press ). I was really shocked with the graphics, everything looks great ( especially the robotic arm ). It's not the most well optimized experience though, and I did experience a little stutter ( it is a demo though, to be fair ). I have paid more, for full release games, that I enjoyed less. hopefully this will turn into something awesome.

Mixed review score? Say what? This was some excellent, graphically lush VR! It's just a shooter or whatever, and a short experience, but for only a dollar, it's incredibly generous for the amount of work put into this.
I really liked the spin on the teleport locomotion. First, instead of a discreet blink, theres low-gravity or something and it fires off like a grappling hook and you jump there. Like your were on the moon. That's polish right there, and this kind of visual feedback really helps immersion for those who are otherwise bored with telportation. Second, this is made more immersive by coordinating the limiting of its usage with the game itself. Like, in this, you can teleport around an area, but to advance to the next area, you have to deploy some techno gizmo that drops to the ground and does a cool sci-fi scan of the area and then you and your space marine friends can advance.
Looking right now, it appears development is continuing, its not just a early access one-off. I doubt it will become a 2 hour long triple-A space marine romp, but if it does, you can get it now for only a dollar! The ten minutes you get is so dank, it's a no brainer. Anyone who rated this negatively doesn't know spit about VR content. So say I. Not to be confused with the 'Repo Ant', an insect who, having right of ownership of the property in question, takes the property back from the party having right of possession without invoking court proceedings.

Very impressive and a lot of fun. Thanks for being upfront with the length of the game. Great graphics!

Okay, I will break this review into multiple parts, so let's go (I will update this review with a later release):
Graphics:
- really good. Keep in mind we are talking about a VR game here. Sadly they "nerfed" the graphics in December, because a few people had a problem with these high graphics combined with an optimization that is not yet finished.
- the robotic arm is SUPER detailled. Was honestly impressed. As well with the drop-pods.
Gameplay (pro):
- What can I say? Honestly loved that. Emptying a whole god damn magazine into one of these things and shouting "YOU GOT TERMINATED" in an arnie voice is priceless.
- Weapon handling takes a couple minutes. One handed it's easy, takes a bit of getting used to if you use both hands. Sadly, there is no penalty for shooting with one hand. Which kinda hurts the atmosphere of the gameplay, but not by much.
- moving with the grappling hand is nice. I hate instant teleportation and get a bit motion sick with locomotion. I had zero problems with the grappling.
- the actions are not "queued". You can jump, reload while jumping / fire while jumping. You can do multiple actions at once, which adds a lot of speed to the combat. Nothing is cooler than grappling towards one of the enemies while emptying your clip mid-air.
Gameplay (not so good...):
- I played the demo 7-9 times, never died. I think it's even impossible?
- the enemies in the demo die super fast. There is no real threat in the game.
- the english voice acting... uh... do not like, I'm sorry. PLEASE change it.
CONCLUSION:
Imagine Warhammer Space Marines, Gears of War and Iron Man had a baby. That's it.
If you don't mind playing a dollar to play a Demo, you're good to go. It gives you a very nice insight of the game. The atmosphere is good, it looks beautiful and I had tons of fun with it.
They need to tweek the difficulty (or make different difficulty settings) and adjust the graphics. I personally can't create content, since it looks like... well, crap compared to the videos that already exist.
Looking forward to the release!
