Rascals
Welcome to the wonderful world of Rascals, the VR board game where you take first person control of your pieces to play dirty tricks on the opposition. It plays much like any other board game where you throw dice to move your pieces along a path from Start to Goal, until you sneak up behind one of your friends and shoot him in the back of the head. If that doesn’t sound like fun, you can always crush him with a rolling boulder, or just blow him right off the board. If just racing all your pieces to Goal isn’t enough, you can try your hand at quicker game modes like racing a single piece to goal, Hold the Fort in which you must control the Goal area to score points, or Last Man Standing where you simply have to survive.
You will be doing battle against a varied bunch of AI personalities, with different skill sets and tactical preferences setting their play styles apart. To help you gain an edge you have access to a wide array of weaponry, ranging from rocks and guns, through explosive bananas and dynamite, to Ninja Whale attacks and insidious arrows that keep hurting your victim until he can afford to remove it. The Rascals themselves are both cute and creepy, the perfect victims of your acts of violence, lovingly crafted from exotic wood in a world of marble and granite.Features

Very simple, but fun board game to play with friends/family. I'd get it on sale especially if you have a board game night or some friends that like to play board games every now and then.

I played for a bit and find it to be an entertaining board game situation. Im thinking this game is the type that gets better the more you play it so you can flesh out strategy and better learn how to use your weapons.
There are several game types, here are two of them.
A race to the finish where the oposition seemed hardly interested in attacking, so first person to the end wins. I can see more strategy if the oponnent isn't so bull headed to get to the finish as the AI. - Merciless culls kicked my butt before I dropped the items and started using my Ability points for pure movement.
Last man standing reminds me alot of Worms in that you are set with several avatars and use items to knock out and kill the oponent. - Swapping into the avatar to deliver the kill is pretty awesome and hearing thier squeeky please noes only made destroying them all the better.
I look forward to sinking a few more hours into this game and hope to see the developers continue to refine it.
Small Gripe: One thing that would be great is if I balloon all oponents, I feel like that should be the win, Not that I should have to cylce through a few turns to get a weapon, then ammo, then shoot them down.

This is a really cool casual-but-kinda-not-casual board game in VR that adds genuine strategy to random physics. You can use items to shoot/throw/explode your opponents at your heart's content, but the strategy comes with confidence in your own ability. For instance:
You CAN throw a pebble at someone's head from across the map to knock them out if you happen to be good at throwing, or you can move closer to them and whack them in the head. There is also a lot of planning how to use the amount of moves in your turn. Either you can use your AP to move characters around the board, or you can spend them on weapons to prevent the enemy from moving.
Even though the game seems pretty simple, you can tell that a lot of work went into the small details.
PROS:
Lot of replayability
Multiple levels and game modes
A lot of interesting weopons and items with multiple uses
Game peices are cute and fun to interact with
The AI really good, but fair
CONS:
Hard to understand at first, but gets easier after a few tries
The Last man standing game mode takes a bit too long with more than 2 players
Hot-Swap multiplayer is a welcome addtion, but physically swapping the headset is tedious
Graphics are fairly simple, but they get the job done

Rascals:
~~~~~~
How many times have you been told since your youth that you’ve have been cheeky? I would presume quite a bit. After all, we all are human! What if you are becoming slightly too cheeky and end up as part of a game with other people just like yourself? In this game you’ll take the role of a higher being controlling wooden figurines, participating in the game of Rascals!
Rascals is a VR turn-based strategy / board game developed and published by Ninja Whale Studios, where you take control of 5 wooden figurines in an interesting board game.
After going through a short and very good tutorial, you’ll be ready to face off one or two good AI opponents. The game offers a few modes of play, which will vary throughout the single player campaign. But before we go further, what and who are these Rascals? Well, they are wooden pieces with a head, body and two hands. Neither head nor hands are physically connected to the body, which is fun! They might be very cute in appearance, with their big, expressive eyes, but these little rascals are also good at sledging when needed during each of the matches.
The game is set in a space environment, which is very cool. In the middle of this setting, an uneven marble board will appear. On one end of the board you’ll have a starting square where all of your five Rascals, as well as your opponent’s five Rascals, are placed. Somewhere at the opposite end of the board, you’ll also find an end square. In order to win the game, be the first to place three of your figurines in the end square, or to reach a certain number of points, which can vary from 5 to 25. There is also the Last Rascal Standing mode, thrown in the mix to make things even more exciting!
You will start with 5 action points, which will represent your 5 Rascals. Roll the dice to receive up to an additional 6 action points, which will give you a maximum of 11. You can use your action points to move your rascals on the board. Once you’ve moved one of your rascals from the starting square onto the board, you’ll lose an action point on your next turn, leaving you with four action points plus whatever you roll with the dice, and so on and so forth. Pick a card from the card deck next to the board, and activate it with one of your rascals. What you need to remember is that each time you choose to do so, it will cost you one action point. You can hold up to four cards per control.
The cards shows either guns, bows, boulders, explosive bananas, giant falling fish, dynamite, pebbles or balloons. Mind you, you’ll need ammunition for both the guns and bows to be affective against your opponent. You’ll need an ammunition card (bullets and arrows) to use these two weapons against your enemies. Activate one of these cards on a square where one of your rascals is stationed. Then you’ll become the rascal. Pick up the object and aim towards the head of your enemy rascal; this will stun them for one to five turns (seconds are represented by the number of stars circling around their head after being hit).
It will take you from 5 to 30 minutes to win a game, which is pretty good, in my opinion.
Graphically, Rascals looks very good and the controls work well. I really enjoy the rascal comments here and there; they’re funny! Gotta love a good sledge (just like in cricket, I’ve been told)!
