Honestly this game is amazing.
It's really cute, it's quite fun.
Some parts may be difficult. Learn them. This isn't a game you can throw yourself at and expect to conquer it without thought. (Cough cough) Negative reviews (cough cough) uhhh-
Overall, 10/10 game in my opinion.
Edit: Unlocked the door. I love this fucking game.
And as a wise man once said... "I would FUCK the SHIT outta Shopkeep."

It is a crime that this game is free.
People saying that they don't like it should probably ask themselves if they like roguelikes. I say that because I saw reviews complaining about the bosses doing things at random (they don't, they have patterns they follow every time), complaining about money being scarce, and about the game being difficult to learn. It's not going to be a cakewalk, that's... kind of an aspect of the genre. People complain about the controls being clunky or hitboxes being weird or too big, and that the rooms are too cramped. I can't really say anything other than get good or play a different game. The hitboxes aren't weird, just learn where they are. The enemies and their attacks aren't unpredictable; they all follow the same pattern every time. If the controls feel clunky, heaven forbid you ever play a 2d platformer in your life. The roll doesn't need to have invincibility when you get up, it's already quite generous in how long the invincibility it has lasts. And for f***'s sake use your melee its RIGHT THERE
The game feels well balanced to be challenging to learn without feeling like banging your head against a brick wall for an hour straight. The atmosphere created by the music and the art style only add to the experience, and the number of weapons keeps things fresh without being stuffed with way too many. Plus there's a good bit of story behind the actual gameplay from what I can tell, but I haven't made it very far with that yet. Again, this is a polished roguelike that's well balanced in a different format than most others I've seen (most of those being top-down). If it's not your cup of tea, that's okay! Just don't complain about a game because it's not your thing.
I came across this game by chance and I'm so glad I did, because I love everything about it. I will be buying the artbook in order to support the people who worked on this game, because it's amazing and absolutely worth paying for.
TLDR: This game is amazing and it's a fun challenge to play. It should cost money. Most "complaints" are whining about the game being hard. Get good.

w art w gameplay w challenge w story w characters w game
it takes time to learn the attack patterns but once you do its fun
rng aspect of the game is both good and bad but it adds variety and makes sure that no 2 runs are the exact same (yippee)

second boss fight is absolute dogass, this game is overall kinda frustrating but I'm still having fun with it and wanna keep trying, that boss fight though is just pure garbage and almost ruins the game for me. if the devs were to ever come back to this game to make one final change, that fight is what would need to be revamped more than anything

I usually don't play roguelikes because I generally hate restarts but this game was actually really fun.
The restarts aren't going to set you back a century and the bosses have attack patterns that feel complicated and almost impossible at first look but after trial and error you'll start "feeling" the pattern in an almost inexplicable way. Soon bosses and enemies that were stressing you to the point you'd punch your monitor will seem rhythmic and the stress will subside... till the next floor. Even when you learn each attack pattern the game never feels so easy to the point of being boring, instead when you learn the attack pattern it just feels like playing the game on an easier difficulty.
Overall, I'd only play if you're up for the challenge though (this game will have you stressing).
I'd give it a 10/10.

Honestly cannot believe this game is free, and somehow has not blown up in popularity.
Drew me in with its artstyle, kept me playing with the challenging gameplay that felt like it was completely fair and that it was my fault if I messed up which can be rare for the genre.
The game is unforgiving at the start, but once you come to figure out how things work the game becomes quite addicting.
This is basically "Skill Issue" the game (in a good way). If you're a fan of other big Roguelike titles out there such as the Binding of Isaac or Enter the Gungeon definitely check this one out. Even if you aren't I mean hey its free why not try anyways.
