downloaded this game on a whim, mostly because it was $3 USD and had a bunch of free DLC available. never played a farming simulator before, so what the heck, right? well, let me tell ya... it's kinda fun :) the story is all right, the graphics are adequate, the equipment is name-brand and of good quality. the tutorial/introduction at the beginning is a little clunky and information is occasionally a bit unclear at times but after working with it for awhile it gets better. I started it intending to just check things out and ended up playing for 5 hours, without realizing I HAD been playing for 5 hours! the balance between a game being time consuming or just grindy is of course "is it fun?", and so far I'd have to say yes it is.

This game is the best game you can buy for $3 (its on 90% discount). Personally I would buy this game if you plan to get farming simulator 22 but can't afford it just yet or are waiting for a discount on FS22. The game is fairly complete, and so far I have not ran into many game breaking bugs. The game is the best value you will find anywhere - provided the game is on sale at 90% off (for $3).
So far I like the game, I have spent a decent amount of hours playing it. I am in the tutorial mode for now, but I will play a freemode one later. I have planted and harvested many crops and started to amass machinery.
One thing I really like about this game, is that you can control the in game time speed with + and -. This is handy, because there was a "bug" which is not really a bug where you would see crops growing before you finish planting... This is because the game defaults to x60 time speed. You can turn it wayyy down to x1 if you have lots of chores/tasks/quests to complete, then turn it back up to x120+ when you are done to get the crops to grow out faster. Then you can go to x1 for harvest time. Rinse and repeat. So really it is not a bug.
It can be real difficult to tell where you've irrigated already. Apart from slightly different soil color, the only way to tell where you've irrigated somewhere already is the GPS/minimap in the corner which is too small for fine grained control. You end up with small slivers here and there that do not get coverage. This also is a problem with seeding.
The gameplay is great, the graphics are decent enough, and I have yet to run into a game breaking bug.
Overall I'd argue the amount of content and playtime you will get for $3 is extremely high. I can spend hours running chores and quests every few in-game days.
I would have liked to see a ToDo list and calendar in game where you can set notes for yourself - Ex. irrigate in 3 days, etc.I also don't understand how a farming simulator could do all these crops, yet there is no corn, which is the crop most grow in North America. I would also like to see an indicator if harvest is ready when you are standing on the field or looking at it in the map.
The only bug I can find so far is an annoying one where you are working somewhere and randomly the game teleports you to random locations.
I would definitely reccommend picking this game up under $10 - either wait for a sale or steam summer sale.
It appears the new owners of the game may be attempting to have developers make minor changes to it. Maybe they are considering trying to make something out of it? Hopefully the game is not completely dead.
