Explore 60 vast levels in five settings, from frozen Antarctic base to the sands of Egypt to the medieval castles’ courts and graveyards. Find keys to unlock passages, reveal secret caches with ammo and gold, use lifts and hidden buttons to access new areas. Finally descend to hell to face the ultimate challenge and emerge victorious.
Combat tons of enemies from flying demons to five-story robots, splashing walls, and floors with their blood and chunks. Es ist ein schön simpler Boomer Shooter mit hübscher Pixelgrafik mit 2D Sprites wie in Doom.
Was mir gut gefallen hat ist, dass die Levelabschnitte schön kurz gehalten waren. Die Waffen fühlen sich wuchtig genug an und zusätzlich hat man Zaubersprüche und kann mit einem Zauberstab Kamehame Ha abfeuern :D
Es gibt auch ein rudimentäres Levelsystem. Hat man genug Gegner ins Jenseits befördert levelt man auf und kann Perks auswählen und seine Stats verbessern. Das bringt etwas Abwechslung ins Spiel und fördert verschiedene Spielstile. Ich habe aber am liebsten einfach mit Minigun und Schrotflinte gespielt. Bin da halt eher Oldschool ^^

Also. Es ist kein Doom. Anfangs war meine Reaktion positiv. Aber schon im ersten Akt fing das Spiel an, langweilig zu wirken. Ja, es ist schnell. Ja, es gibt viel zu töten. Ja, der Soundtrack rockt manchmal ordentlich. Aber das Balancing? Nicht so sehr.
Irgendwann, immer noch im ersten oder zweiten Akt, upgradest du dich so sehr, dass du alle Bosse innerhalb von 10–15 Sekunden mit ein paar Zaubern umhaust. Das macht einfach keinen Spaß. Und falls du mir nicht glaubst: Nur 15,5 % der Spieler haben das Abschluss-Achievement freigeschaltet. Ich denke, das sagt einiges aus.
Ehrlich gesagt würde ich einen Daumen runter geben, wenn das Spiel nicht für die 1,65 EUR gewesen wäre, die ich dafür gezahlt habe. Für diesen Preis ist es aber vollkommen okay, es mal kurz anzuspielen.
