Porsche Hall of Legends VR
The Hall of Legends is an exciting VR brand experience based on momentous stories: Witness iconic moments from the history of Porsche Motorsport, discover the secrets behind the success of Porsche, and collect the Porsche DNA to unlock the new Porsche Formula E car.
From the past into the future
The main components of the Hall of Legends are five vehicles that symbolize Porsche’s decades of success and demonstrate Porsche’s innovative character. The vehicles Egger Lohner C.2 Phaeton (1894), 550 Spyder (1954), 917 (1970), Tag Turbo (engine; 1981) and 919 Hybrid (2018) can be virtually explored. Each vehicle offers you information and anecdotes, together with an influential individual from the respective era.
On top you can “relive” iconic moments from Porsche Motorsport history e.g. like waving the checkered flag, while standing on the Le Mans racetrack as the Porsche 917 crosses the finish line to perform the first overall victory at Le Mans in 1970.
Or you can become the co-driver in the 550 Spyder at the Mille Miglia 1954, where Hans Herrmann and Herbert Linge ducked away under a railway barrier at the last moment and thus escaped the approaching train.
Find out how these and other stories are related to Porsche’s numerous victories. As a reward, you will get an insight into the future of Porsche Motorsport: the new Porsche Formula E vehicle.
And not to forget: Meet Ferry, the virtual Archivist, keeper of all knowledge from 70 years of Porsche.
WARNING
- Application not suitable for people with fear of heights.
- Some may experience discomfort (nausea). Don’t play this game if you are susceptible to motion sickness.

Experienced on the Oculus Rift
Oculus users: you must do a Windows 7 compatibility fix or else you'll start the experience under the floor. If you're not sure how to do that, simply go to the file executable and right click on it and click on Troubleshoot Compatibility. Then just choose Troubleshoot program and check on Windows 7. Finally, make sure that Steam VR is running and then click test program. Save. Then quit and restart. Steam VR always needs to be running first though.
You can view my gameplay here:
This is an approximately 10 minute long experience about the iconic moments in the history of Porsche. Those experiences involve different mini-experiences. In one of them, you'll be waving the checkered flag at the finish line. In another one, you'll be the passenger as the Porsche is driven on a race and you'll have to duck down to avoid the railroad crossing gate. Not all of them are as exciting, one of them is simply moving a clock forward and seeing what place the Porsche is in the Le Mans Race.
You can only teleport around. There is no smooth or snap turning. Whole thing is running on the Unreal Engine. If you did the Windows 7 compatibility fix, expect your frame rates to drop. I enjoyed the experience as I do enjoy racing. However, there is no replay value and unfortunately, you don't get to drive a Porsche.

It's a brief little advergame; if you're expecting some Forzavista-style exploration or a particularly massive gallery of all Porsche history, you won't get it here, but if you already shelled out for a VR set and have ever been the type to go to a car show or museum and look around the exhibits and think "well, that's neat", this is likely worth a look. You get some explorable showcases of different vehicles and motors from Porsche's history, some little text and photo blurbs to look at, and a small minigame for each. There was only one "woah!" moment for me, but for $0, it's well worth it. Perhaps this'll age a little worse when the Formula E Gen 2 cars are less recent, but it's just pretty dang neat for now.

I got excited with the HUGE wall with models, but you only get to see 5.
each with its mini interaction section (best one is the one with the train).
The outside of the cars looks beautiful, the insides seems to lack a lot of detail.
I tried playing with index controllers but only the left one showed up and it had a vive wand model in game... nevertheless i could do everything from teleporting to the few interactions you can do.
This is free, so if you kinda like cars or are a bit interested in a quick demo of a few, give it a try.

Interesting if your into Motorsports and VR and makes for a cool Demo to show to your Friends/family. There's not a huge amount here but some nice VR tech Demo's like Taking a ride in a car and Waving the chequered flag. Hard to fault it as a free Download.

It's free. It's not that interactive but it's nice. If you want to showcase VR to friend and family, or if you really like Porsche, it's worth downloading

Porsche Hall of Legends VR is a free VR experience. It worked on my HTC Vive and Index and Meta Quest 3 via Steam Link system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok, was understandable. You can see six displays of Porsche technology, with five interactive moments. Witness iconic moments from the history of Porsche Motorsport, discover the secrets behind the success of Porsche, and collect the Porsche DNA to unlock the new Porsche Formula E car. It is in English, by default. I guess you could call this advertising, except you have to be able to afford to buy a Formula E RaceCar.
Try it, if you are interested in autoracing and Porsche.
