Test your reflexes in Polygoneer! The fast-paced, action shoot ‘em up from developer NukGames.
Gameplay consists of nothing more than rotating a turret centrally located on the screen, whilst being targeted by geometrical shapes, which are flying directly onto you. Basically five keys on the keyboard have to be used to play, two keys for rotating clockwise and counter-clockwise. Other three keys control the three different colors used to correctly shoot the right target.
Game screen is kept clear, graphics are properly defined. All this on a constantly moving, evolving and colorful background. Since you have to draw an imaginary line in your mind in order to precisely aim for the targets, full concentration is required. Also the fact that targets can abruptly change color, it is necessary to keep collected to press the corresponding key to shoot the right color.
Background music is outstanding, the soundtrack is separately available on the Steam store for purchase as well. The banging upbeat tracks will keep the adrenaline pumping. Sound effects are on par with the responsiveness of the controls, which can give a very rewarding feeling when playing. Combine all the audio with the visual aspects and your set for a very focused, immersive experience.
Polygoneer lends itself excellent to quickly play for those moments where time it too precious. A game to come back to regularly and put yourself on the leaderboards, a nice and fun way to compare yourself to other quick reflexed gamers across the Steam universum.
Due to the low specifications required for PC’s, and its low pricing, make Polygoneer suited for nearly all users.
An ideal game for achievement hunters to perfect and add to their profile page as well. Forty achievements are obtainable through somewhat an hour or less of gameplay. Some achievements are rather grindy, but all can easily be accomplished by means of some practice and elbow grease. The achievement tags consist of alphabetical letters, numbers and some punctuation marks, all great for usage on the Steam profile page.
To conclude: Developer NukGames have a hit with this small, fast-paced action game. I thoroughly enjoyed this game from the first level to the last. Looking forward to other titles from this indie developer as well.
Recommended for:reflex based, casual, fast-paced action gamers and achievement hunters.
Cheers,

POLYGONEER is a little arcade game by NukGames which will really put your reflexes to the test. You control a turret to shoot down colored polygonal shapes but you have to match your shot with their colors. You can have fun getting all the achievements or buckle up for some highscore chasing.

I have a pretty limited experience with shoot 'em up games. They've always been just outside of my mainstream "gaming palette", so to speak. Polygoneer is one of my first examples, and I find it to be a competent and well put together game.
In Polygoneer, you must shoot a variety of shapes approaching you with the color that matches that shape. This is the core mechanic in play in Polygoneer. It works well and I enjoyed the implementation of it. There isn't much more to Polygoneer, it is a really simple arcade-style game with a solid soundtrack which I enjoyed my time in.
Have I completed it? No. Will I return to it? Not entirely likely. I enjoyed it and think it is worth a dollar but I don't see myself having a use for it unless I'm in the mood for this style of game, and as I pointed out at the start of my review, this is one of my least played genres of games. If you like this style of game, you'll like Polygoneer. There isn't much I can offer beyond that, and I don't think this game can offer much either.
In short, if you're a fan of this style of game, you'll like Polygoneer. I think there are other games to start with if you're a newcomer.

Polygoneer is a brilliant and simplistic arcade style game where you commandeer a cannon and your goal is to defend yourself from the oncoming shapes. One issue, there are three different kinds of enemies. You'll have to switch between the different colours of firing (RGB) to hit the enemies, red cannon hits red enemies, etc.
Challenge your accuracy skills by building combos without missing, to get the highest score possible. There are 5 levels total, plus a bonus one after mastering all the original 5.
Can you survive the onslaught of polygons?

I was sceptical about this one going in but if i'm being honest I'd say I had a bit of fun on my time with this one. 8/10 This game is trippy in the best way possible. The music got me too , Its just a shame the soundtrack doesn't actually register when you buy it. Worth the buy for a quick challenge and a perfect game for your profile. Achievements were easy enough to get.

Such a simple concept done incredibly well! Really makes my brain struggle to bounce back and forth, but the practice is worth it. Scratches the brain to have finally hunted all the achievements. Flashing lights were a bit much at points for a game you have to stare at very intensely, but I kind of expected it going in.
