Pluto is creating a new way for you to connect to anyone from anywhere in the world by enabling more natural virtual communication. It runs alongside SteamVR apps for direct, contextual, and comfortable connections that transcend text, voice, and video.
To get started: (1) Download Pluto (2) Add contacts, and (3) Call to stay connected to the people you know and trust in VR!
On Pluto, you can:
- Voice chat between VR and iOS devices!
- Wave to your contacts to let them know when you’re ready to chat
- Stay connected in private conversations while using individual or multi-person apps
- Get into multiplayer games together. Try starting at the same time!
- Talk with friends during loading screens and other slow app moments
- Play social VR apps while maintaining a separate conversation with one or several people. Try using Pluto to coordinate where you’ll meet up!

In contrast to what others are complaining about...
If you learn how to use the startup functions of steamVR you can turn off the auto load of add ons and tools like these..
You can also right click on the running icon "Near your Windows Clock/Time" and uncheck "Launch Pluto at Windows Startup"
A LOT of the negative comments are those who didn't realise you can turn off the auto load feature,
or simply don't understand what the tool is used for...
In short:
This is handy if you switch in and out of VR apps "like i do often" and you want to remain chatting with your friends..

Didn't realise it ran in the background whenever you start up steam
I now have 1.5k hours in software I never ended up actually using
10/10 would reccommend this to anyone

I'm seeing a lot of negative reviews here, but people seem to misunderstand what Pluto is. Where Pluto really shines is as an overlay app. Say you're playing Beat Saber. You can join a fully spatial VR call with a friend without ever leaving your game. Avatars of other members of the call will show up standing around you. You can even share your perspective to other users, so they can give you tips about the game you're playing or watch your scream like a baby playing Phasmophobia.

I wanted a taste of PCVR, and this was it. Plutosphere gave me the opportunity to experience PCVR without a PC and it was awesome. It wasn't perfect, but it was good.

Still a work in progress but really cool application. Excited to see where it goes

Pluto does an amazing job at creating a sense of shared presence. Being able to instantly connect with friends in VR and collaborate in some of the most popular apps makes VR more fun. I once read that the killer app for VR is other people, and with Pluto, it's suddenly much easier to connect. I personally am excited for using it for tabletop games like Dungeons & Dragons, where you want to be able to see the hands, face, and eyes of your fellow gamers.

Great tool for immersive meetings where you can share content. You call in and you can see your collegues or friends in VR th avatars even raise eyebrows and move mouths as you speak. If you have Knuckles controllers or touch controllers you can get muiltple finger input which is very cool - 5 stars!
This programme has taken a beating from reviewers from almost 2 years ago, Ignore the feedback which was based on old pre-release builds. , so i thought id mention that the app is great now and works well once you make sure your firewall/antivirus doesn't kill its processes.
