- A schedule system. That’s the heart of it. Think of, like, a Persona game but with none of the dungeon-y stuff.
- Alcohol is represented and in some cases abused. Be careful.
- Sex is implied and mentioned in some cases, but is never the focus.
WHAT NOT TO EXPECT
- A harem. There are many people to spend time with, but not in the “romantic” or “sexual” way.
- True love. We don’t know what that is. The best on offer is a placebo.
- Simple solutions. Not everything will become completely clear by the end, like life.

Placebo Love ist eine Dating Sim in der ein junger Mann namens Lorne Volley eine mysteriöse E-Mail erhält in der ihm Lady Love verspricht, dass er innerhalb der nächsten 18 Wochen seine Seelengefährtin finden wird. Alles was er dafür tun muss ist drei Fragen zu beantworten. Klingt eigentlich wie Spam der nur dazu dienen wird ihm noch mehr Spam zu bescheren, aber dank eines neugierigen Kollegen beantwortet er nicht nur alle Fragen, sondern schickt die Antworten ausversehen sogar doppelt ab. Und wie der Zufall, oder Lady Love, es so will, trifft er kurz darauf tatsächlich eine süße Frau namens Nadia in die Lorne sich direkt verknallt obwohl sie nur ein paar Minuten miteinander reden können. Und er es schafft es sogar irgendwie an ihre Nummer zu kommen und ein Treffen in naher Zukunft zu arrangieren.
Scheint also alles blendend zu laufen. Und wenn die beiden tatsächlich Seelengefährten sind, dann dürfte es nur eine Frage der Zeit sein bis Nadia sich ebenfalls hoffnungslos in ihn verliebt. Das Problem an der Sache ist allerdings die zweite Mail die Lorne ausversehen gesendet hat. Einige Stunden später, als Lorne endlich seine Heimatstadt Belltree erreicht, zu der er jedes zweite Wochenende pendelt um seine Mutter zu besuchen, trifft er nämlich eine weitere Frau die wie für ihn geschaffen wirkt. Eine Frau die genauso aussieht wie Nadia, genauso klingt, das selbe Muttermal am Hals besitzt, aber angeblich Diana heißt und die meiste Zeit in Belltree verbringt. Nicht so wie Nadia, die in der Großstadt Castanet wohnt und arbeitet.
