Roadmap
About the Game
Bob, weave, evade, and shoot through a space sector filled to the brim with enemies. The game is built with rushes and high-speed chases in mind, so make full use of your mobility and firepower.
Choose from a variety of ships to pilot, each with its own stats, starting weapons and passive abilities. Upgrade its equipment, and create builds that suit your play style.
The enemy forces build up as time passes, increasing the Incursion Rate. As this value rises, new events and dangerous threats enter the fray. Keep this value down by destroying key enemy units to prevent yourself from getting overwhelmed.
Aside from the ship you control, you can summon your Support Craft into the field for extra firepower. Not only that, approach it to open up the Support Shop, where you upgrade your ship and use other support actions.
You get rewards after a game session, which you can spend unlocking new ships, or customizing your ships even further and making them stronger!

Nothing amazing here, but worth the price of admission. Nova Drift has a much better game play loop and Starcom has a better story. If you want something more or different this might fill the void though.

Frantic combat with some interesting ship and weapon types. And multiple game modes.

I consider myself to have finished the game clocking in 40~ hours and getting all the achievements.
I have found first runs difficult but in a good way, closer to 'easy to understand, difficult to master'. Controls are simple, and incrementally unlocked weapons/passives are paced well to not overwhelm you.
Each ship out of 10 has different gamestyle, and requires different approach to use them effectively, my favs were Monarchs drone spam, and BioForce ball of death.
For me personally some sort of 'test mode' is missing to check newly unlocked items, since they sound great on paper but are underwhelming in real encounters.
Also database filter to search for specific weapon types, or uniques per ship.
Amount of unlocked items is sometimes a curse, since you might need very specific weapon/passive combinations to make certain ships shine.
Some ships were noticeably weaker than others, plus there's no way to spend 'warp' currency after you've unlocked everything.
Run usually lasts about an hour so it's a plus for busy gamers ;)
TL;DR Game is easy to understand, but hard to master.
Game is challenging and even the best run can end in a catastrophe if you're hard-countered, debuffed or not equipped up for ocassion.
Overral it's a polished fun experience with miniscule flaws and I highly recommend the game

Yes, I love that the ships have different mechanics from the completing various stages
And I love trying different builds from the same basic ships

Pretty fun Roguelike that has a campaign mode, and several "instant action" style modes. The campaign does mostly feel like a bunch of random waves with different objectives, but I found it pretty fun. Sometimes that little bit of a narrative to give you a reason to do what you're doing can make a huge difference.
Graphically the game looks nice as well, with lots of cool ship designs and explosions as well as a nice view of space. Music and sound are also good, which makes the whole experience an enjoyable one.
Tons of games to choose from in this genre, and PhaigeX is certainly a nice title to add to your library.
