Pendragon is a turn-based strategy game, where every move you make drives the narrative, and every story twist opens new gameplay opportunities. Will you advance and show your mettle, or cautiously retreat? Will you slip round enemies, or encounter them head-on? And when sacrifices are required, who will you put in harm's way? Pendragon is a great modern retelling of arthurian litterature. There's a kind of resonance between rogue-like procedurally generated stories, and the sameness yet uniqueness of the texts written on the Round Table during the High Middle Ages that the game uses well to its benefit.
Its combats are great, but you'll have to play a few hours before you get the hang of it. The game sure isn't flawless, but, first, the devs are really reactive, and second, it has this little something that makes you come back for more .
Pendragon est une excellente relecture moderne des classiques de la littérature arthurienne. Le jeu profite intelligemment des similitudes entre le rogue-like narratif dont l'histoire est générée procéduralement, et les histoires de la Table Ronde rédigées durant le Haut Moyen-Âge, qui étaient uniques tout en partageant de nombreux points communs.
Les combats sont stratégiques et appréciables, mais demandent quelques heures d'acclimatation au joueur. Le jeu a bien évidemment des défauts, mais d'une part les devs travaillent dur pour y remédier, et sont très réactifs, et d'autre part, il possède ce petit quelque chose qui vous donne envie d'y revenir .
