Peaky Blinders: Mastermind
Peaky Blinders: Mastermind is a puzzle-adventure game, based on the multi-award-winning BBC and Netflix TV show.
Welcome to Birmingham, during the aftermath of the Great War. Set right before the events of Season One, Peaky Blinders: Mastermind lets you join the Shelby family's criminal gang. Follow the rise of Tommy as he successfully uncovers a sinister plot to put the family out of business, proving himself worthy of being the true mastermind of the Peaky Blinders.
Mastermind refers to Tommy's ability to plan complex scenarios in his head. As the player, you get to exercise this power by taking control of key members of the Shelby family including Tommy, Arthur, Polly and more. Become the Mastermind as you freely reset and rewind each character's path in order to tune all of their actions for perfect coordination.
Achieve the highest mission rating by strategically utilising characters and stealth to solve increasingly complex puzzles with optimum timing.

A very nice puzzle, time manipulation, group management game that I haven't really experienced before.
YAY:
Works flawlessly with an Xbox controller, the time manipulations tools feels right and easy to use.
The art is nice and gives the feel of an industrial Birmingham early 1900's-1920's.
There are currently 10 levels which are rewarded based on time (gold / silver / bronze) and are re-playable in the campaign.
NAY:
There is no voice acting whatsoever which I was a little disappointed with but given the price I guess that's fair.
MEH:
I'm not sure this has much if any re-play ability. At it's core it is a puzzle game and once you have a perfect level I see little reason to play it ever again other than maybe for a better time but meh.
Considering the price and my bias towards the series 8/10 razor blades.
I would recommend.

Review by Gaming Masterpieces - The greatest games of all time on Steam.
Is this game a masterpiece?
I decided to do some research before writing this review and began to watch the Netflix series "Peaky Blinders". Now I am into Season 2 and still have not written my review. The series is great, though.
Back to the game. So, is it a masterpiece? No, most likely not, but it is a reasonably good game. I'll begin with some of the obvious shortcomings, like they did not use any voice-overs nor the original primary theme music from the series. Probably because of budget restraints. The game does not support ultrawide screen, it works, but not perfect. While it has been translated into a bunch of languages, you cannot switch the language, it just uses your default windows language setting. Annoying. My biggest gripe is the relatively short duration, though. You cannot play through it in an hour or two, but don't expect to be occupied for a month. You will soon run out of missions, even though the later ones are challenging.
Taking control of the Shelbys right before the start of the TV show, you have to control key gang members (Tommy, Arthur, Polly and the rest of the gang) to achieve some story-based missions in Small Heath. You move your (up to 6) characters in real-time, but can pause anytime. Pausing is necessary, because you have to coordinate the actions of your different characters to succeed. You also have to move back and forth in time, issuing orders, similar to Iron Danger. For example, Ada distracts a guard, Finn sneaks by. It gets more complicated soon :-). Thommy can influence neutral characters as well, which gives you the opportunity to control them for a short time, sometimes under time pressure. If you make a mistake, just rewind the time and try it again. The challenge lies in the perfect coordination of your whole team.
The game is divided into 10 missions (reach that point, talk to that guy, burn that house...) that have to be finished in the allocated time limit. Your goal is to finish the missions (obviously) and be as fast as possible. You can also find hidden collectibles (watches). Pausing the real-time also pauses the time limit. The visual presentation is not bad, lots of little details, nice pictures between the missions.
I was using m+kb to play the game, using a controller is also possible. 2 difficulty settings. Saving during a mission is possible, but only one save slot.
Conclusion:
Decent real-time (pausable) time-controlling puzzle game using the characters and setting from the popular TV show.

I just finished Peaky Blinders: Mastermind and I got to say it is a good puzzle game. It is fairly short with me finishing it in around 3 hours. Most of the earlier levels are straightforward and easy while the latter levels require the use of many different characters. However the game is fairly easy and has vary few levels. I enjoy the mechanic of time travel and how the player controls many characters and synchronizing the events to move smoothly is a amazing. It is a solid game for me, however I would personally recommend to buy this game on sale because of a lack of content.

By order of the Peaky fookin Blinders, this is a pretty delightful puzzle game. Absolutely love the show so was keen to check out the game for it. It's a puzzle and adventure game within the Peaky Blinders world where you can play as characters from the show like Tommy, Arthur and Ada Shelby etc.
The game is fun with the crucial usage of time manipulation in order to solve puzzles and progress through the levels. You start off by controlling only Tommy but throughout the levels, you are able to control more than one and switch between them in order to progress. Like for example, you use Ada to distract some people by talking to them and using her charm, and then rewind and switch to Tommy to slip past them; or talking to a guard in order to control them for a few seconds, have them open the door for a few seconds, switch back and rewind to go through said door. Of course, things would get more complicated where you need to do multiple actions and then rewind to progress, as well as more characters to control.
Visuals looks good from the still shots with dialogue for the story during cutscenes, though without voice acting, and the top down view when actually playing the game. Some actiony kind of music is also cool to listen to when playing. Puzzles start off simple but the difficulties do go up nicely where you need to plan/think a bit more to get past it. Each level also has a rating ranging from bronze, silver and gold depending on how fast you complete them, as well as collectables. So there is replayability in trying to finish within the time limits and collecting them all.
Overall, i'd recommend it to fans of the show as well as those who enjoy puzzle games, as the time manipulation aspect is quite fun to play

Pretty interesting puzzle game where you can go back and forth in time to change your character's actions to solve the puzzles. The puzzles are straight forward and not too hard, especially at the beginning. The price on Steam is a little too high considering it only has 10 missions, it should have 15 to 20 missions in my opinion, preferably in the vein of the last two missions which were a good challenge. An obvious issue this game has is it is locked at 30 FPS, but this didn't distract me from giving it a chance and enjoy the game. I completed it entirely though the last achievement for collecting all pocket watches did not trigger for me even though I picked them all up. Despite the issues, I still had a pretty good time with this game and there's no reason to not recommend it. There's hoping the devs or someone else is picking up this game's gameplay formula to create a similar game.
EDIT: just replayed nearly all levels and the last achievement triggered eventually.

Dr. Nonu explains the world
This time: Logical Thinking
Peaky Blinders: Mastermind is a strategy/puzzle game with time manipulation where logical thinking is required to coordinate different persons and their actions in the timeline to make your way through a level.
For example: Door "A" can only be opened by activating a lever. Person "B" is in the room with the lever and Person "C" is in the room with the door. But you can only do one action with one person at the same time. Also there are guards that have to be distracted by Person "D", so Person "C" can sneak past them and go through the door opened by Person "B" holding the lever. You switch between the different persons and rewind time to... While Person "B"... no wait! The door is closed again and the guards aren't distracted anymore! Where was Person "D" again in that timeline? Oh, and I forgot to take that key from Person "A" at the start of the level to unlock door "B" after I made my way through door "A"...
Better rewind.
This is logical thinking.
And as you can see, I'm a genius at it.
Final Verdict:
If you liked the fantastic TV show Peaky Blinders you could have fun with this game. Unfortunately there is no voice over from the actors and the brilliant soundtrack featuring PJ Harvey, Queens of the Stone Age, David Bowie, The White Stripes, Dan Auerbach, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds and many other great artists is missing too. At least the soundtrack made for this game by the band Feverist is decent.
All in all a solid Braidesque puzzle game with some Peaky Blinders flair.
You like the Peaky Blinders ? → 7.5/10
You don't like (what?!!) the Peaky Blinders ? → 7/10

More interesting reviews on Fenol Baron Approves Curator Page
A popular and interesting TV series with charismatic main characters and an good setting, taken as the basis for the game. Puzzles based on tactical planning, use of limited time and thought of subsequent moves. The opening coordinates for the new game "Peaky Blinders: Mastermind" were very good, but did it work out so perfectly in the end? It's hard to say for sure, the game definitely has a number of obvious errors, although there are also enough positive aspects. Everything related to the connection with the series does not give rise to any complaints. The game is a prequel to the first season, so there is no talk of a huge powerful Shelby empire yet, so the plot is rather compact and simple. Petty skirmishes with rival organizations, skirmishes with the police and a small conspiracy lingering behind the Shelby brothers who returned from the war. Everything is quite compactly fit into the gameplay, being perceived vigorously and dynamically.
However, as soon as it comes to things that are not related to the series, some difficulties arise. There are only 10 missions in the game, and 5-6 of them are passed very quickly, even if you pass to the gold medal, and the real difficulty starts from the seventh. And this leap in complexity is perceived as something strange, it can be explained with one simple example. In most missions, the time difference between a gold medal (ideal actions from the player) and a complete failure of a level is somewhere around 10-12 minutes. In mission 9, this difference is suddenly 35 seconds, and believe me, with a close to perfect mission execution option, you will be 4 seconds ahead of the worst time, but more often you will suffer frantically, overplaying almost everything. Don't get me wrong, I'm only for the qualitative complication of the gameplay, but it needs to be introduced somehow gradually, and not suddenly forcing the player to act out perfectly, at least in order not to simply lose in the mission. The variety of characters and their skills pleases, their application is based on the intuitive interaction of the player with the world around them, and an understanding of the mechanics of the game. Some missions are made with a lot of creativity (this is especially true for level 8 with Tommy and the trenches, and that very difficult level 9). The music, as befits the Peaky Blinders, is excellent and driving, the title theme is so good in general.
As a result, we can say that I was mostly satisfied than not. Perhaps this is because of the love for the series and its characters, and their good transfer to the game world. For all that I am perfectly aware that the game suffers from the imperfection of some things, even if not in a critical way. But the quality is quite good, and the price is more than democratic, so if you want to return to the coal streets of the Shelby family, be sure to try it.
