Pathinder Kingmaker enthält alles, was man sich von einem fantastischen RPG erhofft: Eine spannende Story, herausfordernde taktische Kämpfe (die auch nach 200 Stunden nicht langweilig werden), Tonnen an Quests, Nebenquests und Secrets, lohnende Stufenanstiege, Massen an Loot und liebenswürdige Companions mit eigenen Questreihen. Das ganze in einem eng an AD&D angelehnten Regelwerk und garniert mit optionalem Kingdom-Management.
Selten gibt es unerwartete Begegnungen, für die man passendes Equipment benötigt, z.B. Ewige Fackeln für die ersten Spinnenschwärme - und die Wiki im Hintergrund erspart einigen Frust bei kniffligen Rätseln oder Dungeons. Das schmälert den herausragenden Gesamteindruck jedoch keineswegs.
Als Fan von klassischen Rollenspielen bin ich restlos begeistert!

Für Fans der alten IE Spiele und der beiden Neverwinter Nights Teile zu empfehlen. Umfangreiche Hauptkampagne, viele Möglichkeiten seine Charaktere zu entwickeln, dazu ein altbewährtes Regelwerk. Und der Königreichsverwaltungsaspekt mag nicht jedem zusagen, setzt das Spiel aber von den oben genannten Titeln ab. Ich hatte mehr Spaß mit Pathfinder: Kingmaker als mit beispielsweise einem Pillars of Eternity.

Wirklich tolles Spiel im Geiste von Baldurs Gate. Habe mit Teil 2 begonnen und bin mittlerweile auch süchtig nach diesem Spiel. Tolle geschriebene Charaktere mit viel Tiefe.

Ever whished that Steam had not just the "thumbs up, thumps down" rating system? Something like "hmmm, maybe, but maybe definetely not for everyone"? Because that is definetely what is needed for Kingmaker. For everything great about this game, you will find something many people will hate. It is faithful adaption of the Pathfinder RPG. But that also means that bad dice rolls can whipe the party at every time. The Kingdom modus is unique, fun and I just plain whished that more RPG had something like this. But it is also brutal and I needed to save scum constantly, as a single bad outcome can cause a death spiral.
The story is entertaining and most of the characters are well written - but the end is frustrating and feels rushed. The presentation is great, with excellent voice acting and music - but there are no cutscenes and much of the game is reading long walls of texts.
All in all, I did enjoy this game a lot - but I hesitate to recommend it. Consider it a very rough diamond that you should only buy if you love isometric, combat heavy cRPGs and are ok, with all the faults.

Ganz grandios, der Comicstil gefällt mir weder hier noch in der PnP-Vorlage, aber die Regeln sind fein, das Ausrüsten und Gefährtenmanagement macht sehr viel Spaß, man trifft viele wichtige Entscheidungen. Ich erforsche die Landkarte gerne... Es ist besser als Baldurs Gate 2. Oh warum? Weil die langen Texte sich kurz lesen, ganz fein hinbekommen.
