Sometimes you just want a short but incredibly polished experience, and Parry Nightmare absolutely nails it! The mechanics are tight and thoughtfully designed, the pacing is clean with zero filler, and the mix of chaos and quiet moments hits perfectly! The story may be simple, but it’s surprisingly relatable and hits harder than you’d expect! The art style is gorgeous, the atmosphere is immersive, and the soundtrack goes way harder than it has any right to it all just works!
The gameplay is easy to understand but tough to master, and that difficulty curve really ramps up fast! You’ll feel that big spike especially later on when everything clicks and your parries start flowing together, it's such a satisfying feeling! But honestly, just when you’re fully locked in, the game ends and leaves you wishing there were just one or two more stages to keep that momentum going!
That said, it’s priced fairly for what it offers and delivers a meaningful experience without wasting your time! Some sections (looking at you, School Nightmare stage!) can get a little frustrating thanks to unlucky enemy placement, and a dash button would've added a bit more gameplay depth, but those are small complaints in the grand scheme! The emotional lines scattered throughout the game, like “I feel most comfortable when I’m above average, but not excellent.” feel painfully real and relatable!
Overall, Parry Nightmare is a short, stylish, and memorable challenge that sticks with you long after the credits roll! Amazing presentation, satisfying mechanics, emotional weight, and a finale that hits harder than expected!

Sometimes you just want a short and extremely polished experience, and Parry Nightmare delivers that in spades. Meticulously thought out game mechanics, fantastic music and presentation and moments of silence between the chaos, with a simple but relatable little story. It's like a concentrated syrup with no fat in-between. That being said, you get the big difficulty spike and wish you had one or two more levels where you could keep the high of everything falling into place as you master the game mechanics, only for it to be over.
Regardless I'll definitely remember this for a long time despite its short length.

A nice short game. I liked to learn the unusual gameplay. I also enjoyed interacting with the room to reveal the story.

fantastic little game. i love the artstyle, the music too and the stages are pretty fun my only gripe is how little there is of the game. the boss variety is pretty decent and challenging even when i fail a level i'm still enjoying my time with it. the subliminal story is decent and guides well into the level themes, so there was no surprise from me seeing that parry nightmare was an indie game contest winner. although the current tag may be misleading, "bullet hell" which yes this does exhibit those qualities but i would equate this more to the "survivor" genre. alas i am not so experienced in survivor games so i cannot give a concrete opinion on my previous statement
this game is great for if you need to kill an hour and it's short length opens up the possibilities of replay. i just wish there was a couple more levels.
