Par for the Dungeon
Golf is boring, Par is different. Join Cal as they battle and chase down the treacherous and dog-napping Bogeys. Putt, explode and fight with everything from grapple hooks to laser beams and conquer over 100 increasingly puzzling levels!
Just like regular golf, the goal is to get Cal into each level’s hole in as few moves as possible. Analyze and overcome bizarre obstacles, dial in your shot power, and send Cal flying!
Hordes of Bogeys patrol each level, their mere presence locking down holes. Set up bounce chains, arm deadly traps and use an arsenal of items to get the upper hand!
Explore quaint towns, snowy crypts, fungal forests and more as you travel through the utterly unique worlds of Par. Mastering mechanics and beating levels in as few moves as possible ranks you up, unlocking new challenges and outfits for Cal.

A lightweight golf-themed puzzle game with just the right amount of adventuring added for extra flair.
In Par for the Dungeon you play as a heroic golf ball on a quest to save his golf ball dog (?!) from a bunch of mech-suited bad guys. Shoot yourself through mazes with environmental puzzles on your way to free your fluffy companion, all while gathering sweet loot along the way.
The gameplay is basically choose a direction, add the right amount of force to the shot and see your little guy barrel away into the distance with abandon! On your quest you get a few upgrades (of Legend of Zelda shame) such as the mighty hookshot, a bow and a fair supply of bombs. The artwork is just right for this silly and lightweight adventure and the gameplay is placed right in that sweet spot of easy to learn, hard to master. You do need to get at least a few stars unlocked from each map to progress in the adventure, but it never felt unfair or overtly challenging, a Dark Souls of golf games this is not.. You also get to lock up a varied assortment of cosmetics by playing the game, and all in all this feels like a polished lightweight title with just the right challenge for a cozy wind-down after a day's harsh work.
Conclusion: Adventure golf in everything including the name! If you are a fan of trick shooting a brave little golf ball through difficult terrain, this game got you covered. All in all a fun and hearty title that gets my recommendation!

I enjoyed golfing without the stress! It is hard at times but not nearly as hard as it is in between easy and hard. 8/10

Par for the Dungeon is a unique blend of mini-golf mechanics and dungeon-crawling elements. Players take on the role of Cal, a sentient golf ball, on a quest to rescue his kidnapped dog, Cerby, from the mischievous Bogeys. The game offers over 100 levels across four distinct biomes, each introducing new challenges and mechanics.
Pros:
- Innovative Gameplay Fusion: The combination of mini-golf precision and dungeon-crawling strategy creates a refreshing and engaging experience.
- Challenging Level Design: Each level presents unique obstacles and enemies, requiring players to think critically and plan their shots carefully.
- Charming Aesthetics and Soundtrack: The game's cartoony visuals and delightful music enhance the overall experience, making it both visually and audibly appealing.
Cons:
- Monetization Concerns: The presence of microtransactions, particularly for retries and special outfits, may detract from the experience for some players.
-Occasional Level Frustration: Certain levels may feel unfair due to precise angles required, potentially leading to player frustration.
- Limited Replay Incentives: While collecting crowns and stars unlocks outfits, some players may find the rewards insufficient to motivate replaying levels.
In conclusion, "Par for the Dungeon" offers a delightful and challenging experience by merging mini-golf with dungeon-crawling elements. Despite some concerns with monetization and level difficulty, it stands out as a creative and enjoyable game.
Score: FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUR out of 5—A hole-in-one adventure with a few rough patches.
