SummaryOutmode is an arcade racer heavily inspired by the Outrun aesthetic movement of the early 2010s. Featuring a retro-futuristic neon setting of beaches, cities and highways; it presents itself as the next step up in Synthwave themed games by building it on the roots of the iconography of a 1980s America and allowing the player to run through the world using a unique arcade driving model.
Features■ A cast of ’80s style "hero" cars/characters, each with their own unique abilities and driving stats.
■ Heavy use of the Outrun aesthetic and Synthwave music, both in a traditional and modern style.
■ Five different pulse racing or "chill out to" game modes – completely configurable by the player, as listed further below.
■ A unique arcade driving model with drifting, boosting and manual gear shifting you won’t find anywhere else!
■ The choice between an immersive first person mode with no HUD or the classic hood or third person chase camera.
■ Split screen/local multiplayer – with Steam remote play support.
■ The choice to listen to your own music or the provided soundtrack – both of which are illustrated with in-game audio visualisation.
■ Unique in-game environments which allow for some amazing picturesque moments.

Game Modes■ Career – If you like progression, this is the mode for you. Be tasked with contract type missions in a story led environment to gain access to new drivers and cars. Beat the competition in milestone head-to-head events and gain legendary Outrun status.
■ Outmode – A modern twist on some of the classic ’80s arcade cabinet racing games, tour through the urban and rural environments of a retro-futuristic America while overcoming vehicular and hazardous obstacles standing in your way.
■ Race – Standard quick race, free choice on the map, car, bot difficulty, bot amount and transmission type.
■ Endless – See that sunset? Drive ’till the end of the earth to reach it. Similar to the Outmode game mode but less competitive and more drive and chill, dodge enemies or play peacefully, rack up new high-scores and share with your friends.
■ Time Attack – Time trial game mode, similar to the race game mode but you race against your previous self (ghost) to compete for the best time.

🔶 Outmode is a arcade racing game set in a synthwave world. 🔶
Graphics (7.5 / 10) :
Pretty nice graphics, full neon design with bright color, and each race have his own design (city, space, sunshine ...)
Gameplay (5 / 10) :
Pretty easy to handle, gameplay is focus on arcade, with automatic or manual gearbox, a drift system for getting boost, and some ability to use during the race (a sort of mine and a force field for slow down others concurrent), with a powerful ability for getting more power and more speed for a short duration. (also coming with some graphics change when using this powerful ability)
Car’s collision are awful, when touching others concurrent, you have a big chance to go into a wall, or doing a 180° spin …
Also some concurrent are too op, can slow you down for a long time with their ability, and nothing can be done to prevent this.
Only 7 tracks, but all of them are long with 2-3 minutes for only 1 lap (most race are on 3 laps).
4 Gamemode, Single Race, Tournament (the main gameplay, the only way to unlock others tracks, on three different tournament), an Endless Mode and a Time Trial Mode
Tournament is the only way to progress, and you need to finish all cups on 1st place, good luck because AI seem to be OP.
Different cars to use, but there also long to get, you need to win credits on tournaments mode, but you need to win multiples tournaments for unlocking one car.
Price (5 / 10) :
Game cost 8 euros, have 7 different track with an endless mode, and take around 2-3 hours for main complexion, maybe a little too priced for the current content.
Story/Music/Optimization (6 / 10) :
No story, but there a optional racing tutorial.
The music, multiples synthwave song, all of them are well made and work well with the game, but not many songs so pretty repetitive.
No problem of optimization during racing, gameplay is fluid and don't freeze (played on i5 / 2 Go VRAM / 8 Go RAM)
Final Note (6 / 10) :
🔶 Outmode is a ok tier little synthwave arcade racing game, with nice graphics, 7 different track, but a weak overpowerful AI concurrent. Recommended on sale. 🔶

Je recommande ce jeu ! Moi qui suis un fan des années 80-90 et de voitures, ce jeu m'a ravi !
J'espère qu'il y aura plus de véhicules, de courses et un mode multijoueur !
