Out There
Out There is an award-winning space exploration game blending roguelike, resource management and interactive fiction. You are an astronaut awaking from cryonics not in the solar system, but… out there… in a far and unknown place of the galaxy. In Out There, you will have to survive, tinkering your ship with what you can gather drifting in the void, and spot garden planets to refill your oxygen supply. Space is an hostile place ; dangerous and mysterious adventures will mark each step of your travel. You will not only meet intelligent species that won’t care about you, but also deal with ancient powers linked to your destiny and the fate of mankind itself. Survival and understanding of what is really at stake in the galaxy is the core of what Out There has to offer.

There are many good things that could be said about Out There, for example some things:
- Music ☑️
- Ambiance ☑️
- Gameplay ☑️
- Artwork ☑️
However then you come across the biggest issue of the game and what almost puts it to a "Not Recommended", that would be the RNG / Luck in the game. It's really punishing and too random, you could be having a really good run and a cut-scene will trigger where most of your ship is destroyed or ever worse only bad RNG would be there from the start and you won't even get anywhere good with it.
Overall it's a neat little experience in my opinion and worth a try, especially with the overall aesthetic of the game, just don't expect to enjoy it for a prolonged periods of time.

It's about the vibes. Soundtrack is sublime. Don't try to optimize or min max or whatever to "win." Just feel it.

This game barely gets a thumbs up from me, mostly because of its fresh concept, great art, and nice music. However, the core issue is that the game is 90% luck. No matter how skilled you are, you’re constantly at the mercy of random events that dictate your success.
You can spend hours capturing new ships, researching tech, and gathering resources, only to have it all wiped out by an arbitrary event that drains your fuel or resources, leaving you stuck in a solar system with no way to recover. It happens way too often and can turn a promising playthrough into an infuriating experience in just a few moves.
What makes it worse is that the developers seem determined to keep the game luck-based, as evidenced by their responses on the forums. They seem focused on making space travel feel tough, but it ends up feeling more random and frustrating than challenging.
It’s a shame because this game has potential. I really hope modders will fix it, like they did with FTL.

A very fun game!... If you use the wiki to math everything out. Even on easy mode I use the wiki to check every alien encounter and random event- and I usually still don't win.
Certainly not a game for perfectionists or those who dislike random chance, but a very fun space exploration experience!

This game don’t care about you. Ran outta oxygen in 10 mins my first run. But somehow I loved it. Feels lonely, mysterious, and stressful in the best way. Good if you like makin hard choices and dyin in space.

This is the game that appeals to the sci-fi lover part of me so hard. I love this game, I remember seeing it in an old Enter Elysium lets play and I knew i was hooked. This game is great.

Fun game, but the resource management is WAY too brutal. Takes some luck and patience to even get into the game.
