Our Life: Beginnings & Always is a feel-good simulation, as well as a “feel-better” one, where painful emotions such as sadness, anger, stress, and worry can all be expressed, then met with reassurance, understanding, and support.
It’s a wholesome experience that faces large steppingstones of life, while having a focus on familiar everyday moments. With notable amounts of customization for even tiny details, you can enjoy pleasures as simple as having a preferred type of drink and a neighbor who cares enough to remember what it is.

Jamie Last (changeable name) has spent the last couple weeks on a summertime high. At eight-years-old, nothing is better than what feels like endless days of school-less adventures, especially when you live walking distance from the beach. While coming home under a scorching sunset one fine evening, Jamie is approached by a stranger. The man is looking for a kid who can do him a favor, and he’s even offering to pay for it. He wants Jamie to please be friends with his only child. The person is Mr. Holden, Jamie’s new neighbor, as well as the father of the odd, and oddly named boy, Cove. Whether Jamie wants to play along or not, Cove isn’t going anywhere. He’s present in Jamie’s life for far longer than they ever would’ve guessed.
And then the long days of vacation finally come to an end. Summer may not be able to last forever, but Jamie can take comfort in knowing it will come back again someday…

尽管已经完整游玩过三周目，看到END字样还是有种怅然若失的感觉。这种代入感首要来源于，在这个游戏里可以完全做自己：无论是形象外貌、个人爱好，还是日常生活中的抉择，大到恋爱选择、工作择校的人生大事，小到食物饮料的挑选，抑或是对各种事件的不同情绪，都完完全全由自己决定。
就像真正经历了一场截然不同的美好人生，在加州海边的度假小镇，从孩提时代到长大成人，有两个温柔开明的母亲，自信开朗的姐姐，无话不谈的闺蜜，亲密无间的朋友们；以及Cove Holden，一直陪伴你的邻家男孩。同他们一起度过夏日，从8岁到18岁，他们给予的陪伴完全平等和尊重，无论是亲情、友情抑或爱情，都并非三言两语一笔带过，细腻丰富的日常生活描述让情感的累积十分厚重，仿佛那些夏日时光真实地发生过。这是一场乌托邦般纯净美好的梦。
Cove不是所谓的完美男主，他有不少缺点，性格敏感又别扭，容易脸红又爱哭，故事的一开始我并不十分中意这个戴眼镜的波浪眉男孩；但在一起经历过那么多回忆后，几乎没有人不会被他打动。就算仅仅作为朋友，他也是生命中不可或缺的一部分；而如果选择更进一步，他会是最完美的恋人。就像家人和朋友总是打趣的那样，与Cove Holden在一起简直是理所当然的。他会偷偷爬窗找你倾诉，旅行回来的第一时间出现在你面前，为你尝试并不擅长的舞蹈，无论发生什么都站在你身边，陪你度过从幼时至成年的每一个夏天。你永远是他坚定的，唯一的选择。直到最后，Cove穿上西装宣读誓言，在满地的白色花朵里细数回忆的点点滴滴，亲朋好友为你们送上祝福。这是我能想到的最好的结局。

我或公开或私下吐槽过很多恋爱模拟游戏，理由无外乎 设定 奇葩、可玩性（也可以说 自由度）低、 剧情稀烂、 文案 劣质这几种。而《Our Life: Beginnings & Always》颠覆了我对恋爱模拟游戏的固有认知。 原来洋妞吃得这么好，狠狠羡慕了

极高的自由度（High degree of freedom）
游戏内的选项丰富多元，大到对浪漫关系的看法、对亲密接触的接受程度，小到喜欢吃什么口味的三明治和冰沙，根据选择的不同会出现相应的文本内容差分。区别于很多游戏中“选项与可攻略对象好感度挂钩”的设计，本游戏内的选项分支更侧重于让玩家“表达”自己。你可以放心大胆地做你自己，也可以按照个人喜好“塑造”一个你喜欢的MC——但总之你不必讨好任何人。
The options of the game are rich and diversified, ranging from views on romantic relationships and acceptance of intimacy to preferred flavors of sandwich and smoothie, with matching textual content variances dependent on the choices you made. Unlike many games where the options are tied to the target's favor-ability towards you, the options branch in this game is more focused on letting players to "express" themselves. You are free to be yourself or "shape" an MC to your liking - you are not required to please anyone.
细水长流的爱（A long flow of love，beginnings & always)
故事始于开满白罂粟的山坡，四个夏天，三十个小故事，回忆碎片散落于夕鸟镇的海滩、绿地、商业街。从8岁到23岁，MC和Cove相伴整整十五年的时光，为这份感情打下了坚实的基础（ Cove告白的时候会细数之前度过的点点滴滴，好感动呜呜呜）。这份温柔的爱意，体现在岁月中的温暖陪伴，谱写着时光中的动人诗篇，也像涓涓细流一般滋润着彼此的心灵。
The story begins on a hillside blooming with white poppies, four summers, thirty moments, and fragments of memories scattered on the beaches, greens, and shopping streets of Sunset Bird. MC and Cove have been together for fifteen years, from the age of eight to twenty-three, laying a firm basis for their relationship( Cove's confession is so touching as he reminisces about the moments he's spent before lol). This gentle affection, expressed in the warmth of company over the years, is like a trickle of water to replenish each other's hearts.
可爱的人们 （Lovely folks）
尽管根据选项的不同，Cove的外貌和性格会有一些差分，但他性格的底色基本不会有太大变化：羞涩、爱哭、纯情的狗狗男（不是我在狗塑！！游戏文本里自己写的puppy！！）。特别特别纯爱，青梅竹马/纯爱爱好者请放心食用！
除了性缘对象（当然，也可以选择只和Cove做朋友而不与其发展性缘关系）外，MC身边也围绕着很多可爱的人（MC自己也很可爱！）：尊重MC的两位好妈妈、Cove家有趣的父母、偶尔叛逆但本质善良的姐姐，和各有特色的朋友们。 有爱情，但不只有爱情。 哪怕不发展爱情，在剧情中感受到的情意也足以充盈内心。
Although Cove's appearance and personality will vary a bit depending on the options, the essence of his character will not change：he is a shy、lachrymose and pure boy（The game describes him as a puppy!). If you like pure love stories and childhood sweethearts, this game is perfect for you!
In addition to your lover (or, of course, there is an option of just being friends with Cove without developing any sexual relationship with him), MC is surrounded by a lot of lovely people (and MC is cute too!) ): two wonderful mothers who respect MC, Cove's interesting parents, the sister who is occasionally rebellious but essentially kind, and friends who are each unique in their own way. There is love, but not only love. Even if you don't plan to develop a romantic relationship, the affection you feel in the game is enough to fill your heart.
浪漫又有趣的文字（Romantic and interesting text)
老实说，我不是英语母语者，所以对文本的感触或许没有那么深刻。如果让我用一种饮品来形容本游戏的文字风格，我会用玫瑰柠檬气泡水( FENTIMANS家的Rose Lemonade)。 咕嘟咕嘟冒着粉红泡泡，散发着玫瑰的香甜气息，入口又混着柠檬的清新气息。清爽，又甜蜜，我非常喜欢。
Honestly speaking, I'm not a native English speaker, so my sense of the text is perhaps not as deep as a native speaker's. If I had to describe the textual style of this game in terms of a drink, I would use rose lemon sparkling water(Rose Lemonade from FENTIMANS). Gurgling with pink bubbles, the sweet scent of roses, mixed with the freshness of lemons. Refreshing, and also sweet. I LOVE it.

一边心动一边疲惫，在真实和不真实之间大起大落的游玩体验。
玩到一半的时候感觉自己真的住在Sunset Bird、真的拥有了那些亲人和朋友，在step 3却因为太过理想化的感情有了一种无法代入的抽离感。随着时间的推移Cove在我的生活中的比重越来越大，”他不可能存在、我无法拥有他“的感觉也越来越强烈。
虽说我们这个（游）戏的主题就是纯爱，建立在长久的友谊上的感情是很好的，但整太纯了就像子供向动画里的情侣，气氛到了戛然而止了，搞得我抓耳挠腮， 深夜时分的年轻小情侣亲完摸完 扭脸跑去山坡上看萤火虫了 这件事是真的有可能的吗（） 。
通过回忆发展关系这点特别nice，巨大的文本量让我体验到了对一段关系的踏实感和信任感，很值。一直觉得很多作品里青梅竹马的设定过于虚浮，究其原因还是没把两人的共同回忆呈现出来，也就没法让人相信他们互为对方生活的一部分。当然碎片化的日常会在结束的那一刻让人感到空虚和意犹未尽，也算是它独特的魅力了。

玩完了 真的有一种怅然若失的感觉....里面设定好细，很多个性化选择都交给玩家自己决定，比那些隐藏私设的国乙强多了，原来外国人玩的这么好呜呜呜。cave真的很可爱 但不得不说长大之后那个衣服不咋好看。（个人觉得）LEE太美了，小时候像爱丽儿一样。

我之前跟我玩乙女游戏的朋友抱怨，说为什么我们所了解的乙女游戏，大部分都是刀子和沉重的主线剧情，为什么没有那种完全日常的乙女游戏呢？
哎，这不就让我玩到了×
日常剧情爱好者一本满足，男主意外的完美贴合了我的xp（眼镜男书卷气哭包依赖人）；剧情也很棒，文风以英语苦手的我来看感觉也很优美（所以一个单词不认识最后全靠的翻译软件拍屏）；就是那种我向往的平淡的日常，没有绝对的好人坏人，主人公和ta周围的人都是同时有着优缺点的普通人；在恋爱方面也是放在现实中也相当喜欢的那种，男主会记住你的喜好，你们初见的地方，我选择在阶段三选择表白，看着穿着正装手里拿着萤火虫哭个不停的男主，真的有一种心脏被击中的感觉
（本意白嫖的我就这样买了剧情拓展dlc和结婚dlc）
整个游戏从头玩到尾，看着结束画面，真的会不由自主地产生怅然若失的感觉
游戏里的“我”陪着一个男孩子走过了15年的时光，看起来还要一直一直走下去
可我却要重新回到现实了

一开始的游玩体验还不错，因为实在没玩过自由度这么高的。但是到了两个人真正在一起之后，体验感就下降了，很多很多琐碎的时间和环节，也没有期待之中的小情侣贴贴┭┮﹏┭┮而且英语看久了真的好累www
最上头的是暧昧的阶段，脸红那张cg超级可爱超级可爱！
总之，可以尝试玩一下，毕竟是免费的，前期体验挺好的，不亏。但是后期体验没那么好，也没有那么大的吸引力促使我去购买dlc。
