Omerta: City of Gangsters has a killer idea behind it—building your own crime empire in the 1920s sounds amazing. But unfortunately, the game just doesn’t deliver on that promise. It’s like having a great cake base, but then slapping some canned fruit on top—it’s not terrible, but it’s far from what it could’ve been.
The economics side of the game is solid. Managing your business, running rackets, and dealing with the money flow is fun and engaging, and there’s a bit of strategy there. But when it comes to the turn-based combat, it falls flat. It either feels way too easy or way too hard, with very little in between. You’ll either steamroll enemies or get wrecked with no middle ground, which makes it hard to enjoy.
As for the DLC, it’s worth it if you’re into the base game, but if you’re not a fan of the main game, the DLC isn’t going to change much. Honestly, the whole thing feels like a ghost of a good idea—there’s potential, but it doesn’t fully come to life.
