Do you believe in dreams ?
OLI its a brazilian indie short 2D game with a dark and mysterious setting.
In this game you play as Oliver, a boy who is looking for a way out of an inhospitable city, for that he will have to go through some challenges and different locations of this place to find out what is happening and finish this nightmare.
OLI is composed of simple mechanics, which are:
WALK – keys A and D of the keyboard.
JUMP – Key ESPACE of the keyboard.
INTERACT WITH OBJECTS – keys J or K (depending on the situation).

This is a cool game, the inspiration from games like limbo comes through in the style and the platforming. It's very atmospheric and a little jarring but in a good way, it sets the right tone for the story which is a bit confusing and may or may not be an allegory for WWII but is interesting nonetheless.
It's got a couple neat references to other games and all up it's a great hours worth of gameplay, particularly for a free game.
Gameplay!

One of the most impressive aspects of Oli is its level design. Each level presents unique puzzles that are cleverly crafted, requiring players to think creatively and strategically. The difficulty curve is well-balanced, ensuring that the game remains challenging yet accessible to players of all skill levels.

Its main quality is that it's free, but it's still a solid little game. Inspired by great titles but can't quite get there itself. The camera is the biggest chore.

Good Game! Easy to play and really short - about an hour to get through.
Mechanics are simple but made fun with easy platforming. Would suggest at least one play through.

Love the camera tilts and other visual effects. If the game leaned more into this mechanic it would stand out a lot more instead of resembling the games it was inspired by.
Some of the movement is kind jank, as well as everything being the color black makes certain things like hazards hard to differentiate. The checkpoint placements are sound, the ball section of the train station is not.

OLI is a very atmospheric game with moments of thrills and chills. The story follows a character who must traverse this world which seems to be occupied by the NOVATECH industries, and the obstacles they must overcome when trying to reach the power plant. Overall a decent game with an interesting story/visuals.
My main problem with this game is the issue of controls. Several times I experienced issues with jumping which caused me to die. While trying to do the 0 Deaths achievement, it was frustrating to have to start from the beginning because of an issue with control input. I wouldn't blame the creator as much as the engine to create this game because of previous experiences I've had with input lag on Unity.
Overall, an interesting game.
